I am so sorry to hear about this. Maybe the not-so-smart thieves thought it was a debadged Type R that suddenly showed up in the lot, with the red H and all.... :D
I saw a PMM CTR today in the Southbury area. I saw the red H in the front, but only thought s/he had modded the Si. Then, I saw the wing in the rear view mirror and I gulped air. It was the first in-the-wild CTR I witnessed!
Yeah, it's understandable, but sad to me that most consumers only look at numbers. This engine is the underdog that gets overlooked. ;)
I drive my 2.0 manual hard and I still get 37 mpg in the summer. I have a feeling a turbo won't be the efficient one for me; very little of my driving is...
I have also wondered whether people really love the 2.0. We don't hear much. Honda is promoting the turbo all the time, and pretty much no one has reviewed the 2.0. With a tried and true 2.0 and MT, I never feel under-powered. No regrets.
I think that e-brake comment was meant to be a joke in a way. He's making fun of "changing things that worked just for the sake of it," thing. On the Impala I rented a while ago, the switch was sideways with no labels. THAT was annoying because I never knew if it was on or not, and the light...
Oh, Z knows. ;) And, he was half jokingly talking about driving with other cars normally on public roads, minding his own way. Or, wait. Are you secretly racing behind our backs, Z??? :D
This.
This is why I get frustrated with some car enthusiasts of today. They think speed and/or hp are the only thing that defines a quality sports(y) car, calling the Si, 86/BRZ, or Miata slow, or dismiss them due to lack of power. Every single driver in the world prefers a certain kind of...
I don't sense any negativity or complaining here, as no one is calling this Si POS. Honda deserves to know exactly why some like it and some don't, and members are making that opinion known. Disappointed or not, we are all Honda fans at heart. :thumbsup:
Interesting tidbit - a member here works for the steel factory that provides the sheet metal for Honda. He has mentioned before that Honda uses high quality steel which allows them to make it thinner, and thus, lighter.
:rofl: That's certainly extreme! It's hard to ask any big organization made up of hundreds and thousands of people to run efficiently and consider balance. Hence the problems we have, but I digress...
Forgive me I haven't read all the responses, but wow, some heated discussion is going on here which certainly shows that we are passionate about cars and/or Honda. It puts a smile on my face. :) Thank you to all of you for sharing your opinions, experiences, and driving feel. Like the Si or...
I never realized that until now, but I have another test drive today and I am going in with an open mind. :)
This may be a polarizing opinion, but I prefer not to use that term because it insinuates that caring about the greenery on Earth is a bad thing. Taking care of environment is...
:agree: THIS. I will not say that this Si is "just an EX-T with a tune," because that is simply wrong. However, the driving experience was really not that much different than the regular Civics that are already good. Sportier Civic means that the drive should feel unique, something that...
Yep, this is exactly what I meant by "leaving us with a void." There is nothing out there now that successfully replaces and improves on the K series. For now, hanging on to the last K in my LX and enjoying this engine eagerly talking to me on my spirited drives is the only option I have. I...
@Redglare :grouphug:
I cried after the test drive this past weekend. I wanted to like this so much, too, and be wowed by its new identity and character. My initial conclusion is that for those who have never had an Si will love this Si. For most of those (not all) who lived with the K...
I thought I was crazy until I saw Chris's video of the hatch a couple of months ago. When I test drove the LX, the first thought was, "What the hell....?" and just stared at the shifter. I thought I was imagining the difference. It's gotten better with time and miles, but still 'meh'. I'm...
