There won't be an update to change this.
The version of Viper4Android compatible with the infotainment system was already an old one and newer ones were not compatbile. So whatever functionality these is all there ever will be.
Already very aware Unfortunetly.
The firmware shown in his pic is slightly later than mine so I’m trying to figure out if there was one more firmware pushed for the 2016 American Touring.
Oh. You’re super over thinking it.
Having tried a few the thing I can tell you is that internally they are all the same chipset. The only difference are the ones that mirror video or also include android auto support. Beyond that they are all sourcing the same part and just slapping a half-assed...
Not to be a buzzkill but don’t get your hopes up.
Those accords are built on newer hardware revisions that didn’t hit the civic till the 11th gen.
also, a few seconds of an un-aesthetic load screen aside the adapters are the same experience as built-in wiressless CarPlay.
Slight lag after...
Paired my friends phone. After that the problem went away.
Even though a phone restart , delete and repair, infotainment restart , etc all failed that worked.
🤷🏾‍♂️
Just in case anyone else runs into this it’s not the wireless adapter.
I have the same issue wired.
I had the same issue with my iPhone 14 so this is likely a software or firmware issue.
Anyone know what the most recent firmware is for the 2016 American 4 Door Touring?
and possibly where to give it or even if there is a tsb so I can get it updated?
That is a possibility.
Currently I'd just like to establish if other people are also encountering this issue and potentially found any workarounds since it's inconsistent.
I also haven't tried a direct connection to confirm it's the adapter and not some other issue with my personal phone...
After updated to iOS 17 I've been running into an issue where when CarPlay connects it voice assistant comes up on my dash.
Music is paused as if it was listening to Siri but Siri isn't active.
Activating Siri and letting it end returns things to normal.
Happens about 80% of the time.
I...
Could you explain a DSP to me?
Resonably tech savvy guy but I don’t know much about car audio.
I’ve been trying to figure out one modest thing to do improve the audio but never settled on anything.
Using CarPlay is a must for me.
I also have a Touring so using the DSP Flat hack isn’t an...
can’t answer the wired CarPlay question but I use this to charge and use wireless CarPlay. Works well for me.

I'd give the opposite FYI honestly.
BLE is by definition compressed and sounds worse that CarPlay, which is is wireless.
But audio quality is highly subjective. If you're happier that way, great. But from a sheerly technical perspective you are not getting better audio quality.
Also, hondahack...
Also.
Why do you want to update?
These updates are bug fixes only. They do not add any features. If you don’t have any problems this won’t change anything.
