I test drove a 6mt Sport hatch; looks great on the outside, and the 1.5t was better than I expected. But this trim is seriously stripped down; a $16k Hyundai is much better equipped. I'd get a Sport Touring if it offered a 6mt, but alas, looks like Honda doesn't want my money. GTI it is I guess.

In my area, I see dozens of 2016 6MT Autobahns (w/ PP and LP) on Cars.com for ~20% off (~$27k, $34k MSRP); most are red for some reason. That may include some rebates/incentives you don't qualify for (recent college grad, military, etc). But you can get $500 off for being a SCCA member at most...

That's why I said I'd lease a GTI; return it just as the bumper-to-bumper warranty expires. I'm not convinced VW will be solvent in three years either, so I don't want to be stuck with extra depreciation due to that (I say this as a former Saab owner). I won't be upset if there is no Si Hatch, I'll just go lease a GTI Autobahn for ~$250/month (GTI discounts are insane right now). VW understands that 6MT buyers can also prefer leather/HIDs/active safety/sunroof/etc.

Unless you're a glass-empty person. Then you'd say Honda bumped up the HP/Tq for the Sport/6MT hatch models to compensate for a hole in the lineup between the regular Civic hatch and the Type-R.

Toyota offers the Sienna and Highlander in their "Sport" trim, SE. I won't argue that a Sienna SE is in any way "Sporty", just sayin'.

There is a touring, it's just called "Sport Touring" here.

From this I deduce that the "Sport Touring" trim will be CVT only (since it only has one entry). I hope there is an Si hatch, and that it offers a higher-spec trim. Judging by GTI inventory on Cars.com, the Autobahn (top spec) trim is the most popular for 6MT-equipped models. I wonder why Honda...
