  1. Hold its Value

A couple weeks ago, I went car shopping with my daughter looking to replace her 2016 EX-T with 42k miles. I paid $23.5k for it OTD 5 years ago, with 10% off MSRP at that time. Honda dealers offered me $12.5-$15k for it on trade, but Carmax offered $17.2k. I was ready to jump on the Carmax offer...
  2. Is my A/C condenser leaking?

The condenser went on my daughter's '16 Civic in May '20 and was replaced under the EXTENDED warranty for such (had 35k miles on it). Three months later, it was blowing warm air again - diagnosed as leaking o-ring seal - replaced out of pocket for around $500. A few weeks ago, my daughter tells...
  3. Am I the only one having problems with the quality of the wipers on this car?

+1 on Bosch Icons. The wipers on mine would squeak like crazy from the day we bought it, even after wiping/cleaning them several times. Got the Icons on Amazon (about $20/ea) and no more issues.
  4. 2016 civic touring sedan vs. 2016 accord coupe EXL 4cyl w/sensing

As your son is a new driver and this is his first car, I'd say get the Civic Touring - aside from saving $2k vs the Accord, the Civic will probably also be cheaper to insure than the Accord coupe. We got our daughter a Civic EX-T w/ sensing for her first car and couldn't be happier with the...

  6. Average Age of a 2016 Civic Owner? [POLL]

My wife wasn't on board initially with buying a new car for a new driver, but I "rationalized" it based on: 1) the added safety with the sensing package, and 2) it gave us a nice 3rd car option in the "fleet". Honda did a great job with the new Civic and when they mention that it was benchmarked...
  7. Average Age of a 2016 Civic Owner? [POLL]

47 but bought an EX-T for my 16 YO daughter....she loves it, and I enjoy every opportunity I have to get behind the wheel.
  8. How can you tell if you have Honda Sensing installed?

I'm not sure what the dealership did wrong in this case or as someone previously referenced what "fraud" was committed. Dealerships are in business to sell cars and ancillary products, and service them. The MSRP is simply a suggested retail price and dealers are free to charge what they want +/-...
  9. How can you tell if you have Honda Sensing installed?

The sticker was not from the OP - it was someone else replying and just showing how the Sensing Package would show up on the window sticker, regardless of actual trim level.
  10. How can you tell if you have Honda Sensing installed?

Unfortunately unless you have correspondence with the dealer or a sales contract that specifies you were buying a civic with sensing, it's going to be hard to prove they did anything wrong, especially 3-4 months after buying the car.
  11. How can you tell if you have Honda Sensing installed?

That's EX-L without sensing....$23,700 + $835 destination = $24,535 (check Honda website and build Civic...you'll see this pricing). How the heck did you arrive @ $32k if that was the final price? Did you have a trade-in that you owed more on than it was worth?
  12. How can you tell if you have Honda Sensing installed?

Do you have any paperwork or the window-sticker that indicated it had sensing? Do you recall what the MSRP was? If the MSRP was $24,535 that was regular EX-L; MSRP for EX-L with sensing would have been $25,535,
  13. How can you tell if you have Honda Sensing installed?

Couple obvious things: 1) the rear view mirror has a big housing around its base where it attaches to the windshield for the forward looking camera, and 2) the area next to your driver's side fog light would have a flat black glass panel covering where the radar sensor is. Other than this, read...

  15. 1st time new car-buyer: Refinancing and breaking an agreement with the dealership.

Perhaps I should more accurately have said a "long painful buying experience", but regardless, I've bought enough new cars in my time and it was by far the worst car-buying experience I've had in my life. I had been given a price for the Pilot by an internet sales manager and the only thing to...
  16. Honda Civic Breaks All-Time July Sales Record

That pic brings back fond memories of my first car after college...a black '91 Special Edition Integra. Was a great, fun car...only vehicle I ever owned for over 100k miles and my last "stick shift".
  17. 1st time new car-buyer: Refinancing and breaking an agreement with the dealership.

A few years ago, I bought a Pilot - after a long painful negotiation with the salesperson, I was given a price that I was told was final, including ALL fees/taxes. When I got in with the FI manager to do the paperwork, there's suddenly a $199 fee added for vehicle etching (you can google that...
  18. leather seat edge collapse?!?!

Is it possible it was like that when you picked it up? When my wife picked up her ML350 a couple years ago, we noticed a similar issue with the bottom side bolster on one of the seats - we pointed it out to the salesman who took it in stride and IIRC simply stuck his hand under the cushion and...
