From what I can see, the shifter looks linear. Same console pattern as the Sedan. I suspect for a M/T, the opening cannot be as narrow as the Auto is. Do we have console shots of the LX MT?

I would do a Sedan like this. Maybe a bit more fender clearance for a daily commuter, but the looks are subtle but spot on.

I'm wondering how well the existing (15) 1.8 in a turbo would have worked out. I bet it still would have gotten good mileage and pushed the 200hp mark easily.. This, like the sedan is killer in white.

Exactly. If we can get lets say close to 200hp, this could be a working mans Si in automatic form. Granted not as much fun, but having more scoot on the road is always welcome.
