More indicative of a poor showing on Corolla's part, though I understand the market comparison. The Golf, Mazda3, Sonic, Sentra, and Impreza all compare well with Civic in this regard.
I'm actually kind of surprised at how usable the rear quarter glass panels appear to be. The rear seats as well, massive legroom increase. Bubble butt just needed a little spoiler and now it looks great. Bring on the Si!
Very true. At first I thought that perhaps the Mustang's showing was so poor that the Camaro just felt that much better. Then I saw this article - http://www.motortrend.com/news/revelation-chevy-thats-better-bmw/
That's pretty high praise, especially for where the Camaro sits price-wise...
One of MT's criteria for COTY is safety. The Miata hasn't been tested, but a lightweight convertible doesn't exactly lend itself to acing that category. Another criteria is advancement in design. While the new Miata was praised almost universally, I read a lot of "But not enough to justify...
Kudos to Honda for giving us a green! Of course it isn't going to look like the concept's though; that was probably a $10-15k paint job on its own. Looks like good bones to me. Wheels and aero will hopefully change to be closer to the concept's for the Si trim. If it weren't for the potato...
Indeed, even the 1.5T sedan with the CVT puts down performance figures closely rivaling those of the current K24 Si. A massaged 200HP/200TQ 1.5T example would surely best the K24 Si in most fields. The Si will be placed in competition regardless of Honda's (or anyone's) desires for it to be...
It might not hurt their sales with Civic leading the pack regardless, but a 1.5T Si would be a non-competitive waste of the trim. Not just non-competitive with cars like the GTI and Focus ST, even given the prototype 200HP/TQ figures, also against a car like the Fiesta ST, which has much more...
Options are fine. Mandates are raise your pitchforks and torches.
I can see the good possibilities. There are too many people distracted while behind the wheel. I'd feel better with Skynet taking over for them. Insurance rates should decrease across the board due to fewer collisions. Traffic...
And like the WRX, they could give the Si a glass transmission, or forgo the LSD. Who knows? I certainly wouldn't expect the Si and Type R engines to be capable of similar tunes from the factory; this is where I hope they mirror VW a bit. We'll see, I'm impatiently waiting.:D
70% of the performance at 70% of the price. I don't see a problem there. The conflict arises when people assume they'll be able to tune their Si engines to CTR levels with little to no issue. That in itself isn't even a problem, but when the prospective CTR buyer looks at what the ~$8000+ buys...
Credit Mazda with shaking up the segment at least. I can't see how the Mazda3 wouldn't have played some role in Honda stepping up their game with the Civic. That said, I think the Civic uses its lines a lot better, appearing wider and lower in comparison to the Mazda3's upright mound-like shape...
You don't get LED headlights with the base trim, but you also don't get a 4 speed automatic or marginal crash protection.
Here I was just glad they decided to do away with reflector housings. I'm sure some will be willing to pay the ~$1000 to have them swapped out for the LED units.
I really like that he digs into the details that are skipped over in other reviews. Agreed on the blue, hopefully it wasn't just the right camera settings in the right time of day.
It's not that I don't think they could both use a 2.0T, in fact I think that would be the best option. If they could give us the current Si experience with a 2.0T, I think it'd be quite the bargain. Perhaps I'm seeing the Type R in the wrong light in comparing it to the Focus RS and Golf R. The...
I'd like to see what this technology could do for the internal combustion engine with Honda's R&D.
If they take into consideration the environmental impact that the hybrid and electric car batteries have, I could see a normal car like a Civic coming out on top. What are the chances that...
