Lol. OP almost made me spit out my drink. When I first test drove the civic I liked the sound even knowing that it was a little 4 cylinder engine. I owned the mazda3 for a bit and I hated how that engine was so quiet even though I floored the gas.
Yeah, it is fast for what it is when you put it in S mode and that Vtec kicks in but its not as fast as my 370Z. They are different cars though. The weird thing is that although I am getting more mpgs from the civic it has a small tank where as the 370 had a big tank.
Probably going to have to wait until the SI is released to get all of the aftermarket parts. Although, I don't know why companies are waiting for the SI when there's a ton of civics already on the street looking for parts.
Well, I believe the whole point of S mode is that even though the engine is working a bit harder than the other one it will accelerate faster than the other engine that's just going at 2200RPM. If you take two civics exactly alike going the same speed side to side but one has just D mode and the...
Lol. You are right about the 370 being heavy and beastly. I had a 2013 and before I got my Civic, I had CivicX owners try to beat me off the line but they never even came close. The Civic is a nice platform to mod though so I'm just waiting for mods to flood the market.
Nice. I love the red color. I had a red 370Z and didn't wanna stand out this time, LOL. I drove a Corolla as my first car and it way too soft and underpowered. Loving the civic with it's small 4 banger and high revving engine.
Mine has some annoying infotainment issues but not to the point that I hate the car. It's just minor annoyances. It hasn't gotten to the point that the A/C stops working or it makes the car not drivable. If it's something that really bothers you, you can wait for the Civic SI or get the 2017.
Bought mine in May as well and haven't had been to the dealer yet for anything. My rpms never jumped unless I was applying gas or letting go of the gas. I'll start looking for this issue when I'm just driving normally and see if it happens.
I did feel it pull faster when passing on S mode on the highway. It feels faster to me than what the price tag is and I think some faster cars on the freeway are kinda surprised that this little civic coupe can keep up some.
Well, I didn't really get this car for the mileage so I couldn't care less about it and if Honda didn't want an engine with a 6500 redline to go to 6500rpms then what's the point? I'm not saying I want to drive this car at redline every time but I think it's a valid question. Honestly, I go...
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, lol. I love hearing the engine and I'm loving the high rpm's on this little 4banger. I had a 370z before this with 7400rpm redline and this has a 6800rpm redline I believe. This is my first honda car and I'm loving their engine.
Hey, guys/gals. Have a question regarding driving in S mode for an extended period of time. Driving to and from work for me one way is about 50-60 miles and noticed that when driving on "S" the rpm would sit at about 3000rpms at 80mph and when on "D" at 80mph the rmp would sit at about 1500 to...
