If memory serves me right the old mounts were made of a plastic Velcro type material while the new one uses metal hooks. I tried all types of glues before and eventually they would all fail though some here have had success so YMMV. The new mounts should alleviate the need for any glue though...
Kinda crazy to think that it’s been 3 years and Honda still hasn’t made a working fix yet. The issue is whatever material the cover is made of and/or the mechanism they use to hold the piece to the glass isn’t up to snuff. I bought a brand new cover from Honda and in like a year it had warped...
Noticed a few days ago that the red glow at night is creeping in again. Not loose but not a tight fit anymore. Never ending story with this junk :banghead:
Finally saw a hatch irl and man the press photos do not give the car justice, muuuuuuch better looking in person. Almost tempted to trade my coupe for one! (Always owned a hatch before this car)
How do you remove the cover? I wouldn't mi d just unplugging the light for now myself. I've tried the dealership once and super glue about 5 times now since May and the left side keeps falling.
Ahhhhhh! Had that happen to me in my first car getting food at a drive through. I will admit that reversing into a spot with this civic is still a chore compared to my last car, it's dimensions are tricky even with the back up cam. Hopefully the part comes in soner then later.
