I probably over filled her but will be perfect next summer with the slow leak.
You can get a rebuilt condenser for almost nothing on eBay or Rockauto FYI. Not worth $2000 under any circumstances. Have a look. They should cover it. The dealer is just hoping for a quick kill. Check out my AC f*ckered again thread. I used a recharge kit and now my AC is wicked awesome.
I called the dealer and there is a 10 year warranty extension on the AC. You have nothing to worry about. I can find the press release if you get the run around.
My car was the 3779th to roll off the assembly line in Ontario. I had one of the first ones, people commented that it looked like a spaceship. I dinged the front bumper lower lip within 30 minutes of taking delivery because to this day I cannot tell where the front of the car is. My son...
I think you are right, I'am sure it will go down again. When it does I'll get it to the dealer. Honda Canada actually told me the warranty is one year only at the time of the repair. Thanks for your reply.
I just checked. The extension is on the original condenser which was replaced. I don't think I get 5 more years of AC maintenance at this point, would be nice.
My AC stopped cooling again. I did not want to go to the dealership again and because the condenser and pump was replaced in 2019 I figured it was just a bit low. I bought this kit on Amazon

While driving around I noticed my steering wheel was getting worn out at about the 7'o clock area due to the way I hook my thumb around the wheel while cruising. When the sun hit that spot on the wheel it made my car l look like a worn out taxi cab or the clunkers I was so fond of before I...
It should not technically. The problem is defective parts from the factory, but they might try to use it as an excuse. Three parts are available at Rockauto for much less btw.
That is really bad. Your valve cover must have been leaking for a VERY long time. Mine was very mildly battered in oil, yours is deep fried. The silver lining is that the valve cover seal is cheap and a pretty easy job. Good luck. Would be nice to see what is inside, please post pics if you can.
I never had excessive cranking. The engine starts immediately if it turns. I might have had excessive load on the starter while stationary. I think it wore out because of the abrasive paste due to oil in the can.
I cleaned them the best I could. I used break cleaner, brushed them clean, then used a tooth pic to scrape out the extra gunk, then break cleaned and brushed them again. The thing looked new. I already bought another one with 11K on it and an alternator with 12K on it as spares. I do not trust...
Definitely. On my spare starter I will use some gasket maker and properly seal the electrical connectors. This will destroy thousands of starters because the leak is barely noticeable because the tilt of the valve cover. A leak is just about not detectable from the top of the engine, you have to...
Well gentlemen, I've cleaned it up inside and out, reassembled hoping I would have a spare starter. The result was the same, it would click and at some magical point it would spin up, but mostly just push the gear out and try to combust. Damn. Having been inside this starter, the brushes were...
