Unexpected job loss kept me from owning an FK8 Type R. If I’m in a financial position to own a next gen Type R, I probably will if they address the (lack of) exhaust noises issue, as well as allow for customization of the driving parameters like its competition. As much as I would miss having...
I know Honda is more focused on performance with nothing wasted in that regard, but it would be really disappointing if they didn’t notice and strongly consider the complaints regarding the Type R’s abysmal exhaust note for the next gen. If they improve that, and add in customization of the...
I agree with his assessment too based on what I know about the Veloster N (the two Hyundai dealers I’ve dealt with, are utterly incompetent). I’ve only driven the Type R.
The Type R is quite sterile at city speeds, which can be a good or bad thing depending on your preferences and mood. In...
With due respect, there are likely zero auto journalists who would pick a Civic Hatch over a Veloster N. I get that cars are emotional purchases for us enthusiasts so we all have our inherent biases, but a regular Civic Hatch and a Veloster N aren’t in the same league when it comes to driving...
The fact that there’s even enthusiasts in here who state that the difference isn’t even close, or that there’s not much difference between a Veloster N and its earlier predecessors shows how much of an uphill battle Hyundai faces in terms of its brand image. It’s comical when people in their...
I used to be one of those (many) people who poo-poo on Hyundai, and gawd knows all my friends still do, but I would love to have a Veloster N in my garage. The former head of BMW ///M division really did do incredible things for this car.
Almost every respectable reviewer who compares the...
Weird, I’ve dealt with Michael at Remus USA directly twice and both times he’s been incredible to deal with in terms of communication, friendliness, timeliness, and giving a slight discount. Nothing wrong with the contents of my orders of course.
Good luck to you OP. This is honestly the...
I remember the owners of the 500 MK7 Golf Rs in 2015 in USA got steel boxes with limited edition watches and keychains. Was a nice gesture. I ended up grabbing one of the watches off eBay.
Kinda disappointed that Honda didn’t include these as gifts to LE owners. Was hoping for that when my dealer called me asking to confirm my mailing address after I secured an LE allocation here in Canada.
I’m getting PTSD cause you mentioned PS5 - I had a heckuva time trying to secure one to no avail. Anyway, good luck to you if you’re shooting for an LE! I think it’s such bs how USA dealers charge exorbitant markup on special cars. The LE is expensive (for my budget) at MSRP as it is already.
All 100 sold out within minutes. I was able to get in a few minutes before the scheduled time and got lucky with being quick to the draw entering my information. By some heresay accounts, it supposedly opened 2 minutes early and sold out 2 minutes after the scheduled time, so around 4 minute...
Mine is arriving “any day now” - they were told by their Honda Canada rep first or second week of January. Hope it arrives for delivery before our first snowfall (Vancouver).
Yup, my 1 of 100 allocation order number is already tied to my full legal name. If I don’t take delivery, Honda Canada then decides where it goes next. It’s not even up to the dealership at that point. Seems to me that that seller and potential buyer of that allocation are in for some bad news.
Wow $1000 over is a lot lower than I expected as a profit ($1000 of that is to recoup the deposit already paid towards the car).
I hope this person realizes though, that the allocations are not transferable. He/she would need to take delivery of the car and then sell the car after the fact.
When I was looking at a used Miata at a dealership, the sales manager said they could add seat heating to any car as aftermarket/dealer install.
I suspect it could be done to the Type R, and possibly for less money than you might expect.
Not exactly the most exciting nor in-depth video, but it’s the first review video I’ve seen. In case you’re also itchy to see the Phoenix Yellow in action:
Yup, ditto for me. Dealer got in a 2020 Champ White and held it for me for 24 hours with a deposit. I decided to forgo it and wait for the LE. That lower price of the 2020 and the loyalty interest rate incentive was sure tempting.
