After installing the flex fuel kit and having the flex tune, the OEM clutch started slipping about a week and a half later. Ended up going with the ACT clutch and it’s held up perfectly the past year and a half.
I’m in this exact same boat lol. I owe about $8900 on it, but I’ve poured a ton of money into the car. FBO, upgraded turbo, custom tunes, wheels, etc.
part of me wants to do it so I can get my hands on the new 400Z, but that wouldn’t be until next year. Then the other part of me is like Danm I...
I’ve been running E40 on a custom tune for about 15 months and have had zero issues with it. It’s a blast to drive and there’s a significance difference you’ll feel with it. Hell even my exhaust sounds deeper and more throaty with the ethanol.
best of luck!
I have this clutch too. I’ve put about 4K miles on it without any issues at all. I’d say the clutch feels ever so slightly heavier, but I actually prefer it that way. The slight stiffness just feels overall better. I’m on a custom tune that makes 307 hp/297 tq and it’s held up without any issues...
Yes it can. KTuner has a basemap for the W1. I ran mine for like 2 months before I got the custom tune. Just don’t beat or drive your car very hard until you can get a proper tune and you should be fine.
selling the kzCMC made by k20z3allmotor on Instagram. Here’s the link to the product on his site - https://www.naperformanceftw.com/kzcmc/kzcmc-clutch-master-for-honda-civic
This thing is normally sold out and it took me several months to get my hands on one.

Cars and coffee is more of an overall meet where like spectators and families come out. If you’re in to the smaller meets, then you’ll find them on ig.
but there are some bad ass cars at C&C
I’m near the west palm area. Besides cars and coffees on the last Sunday of every month, most of them tend to be pop-up meets. I used to be in a car club down here that did meets all the time, but only like the same 10 people showed up and it was more of a younger and immature crowd so I got...
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t the tune impact the burbles and crackles more than an exhaust itself?
also I’ve been tuned with rev hang and without rev hang - without rev hang I got way more burbles and crackles than my current set up with rev hang. Rev hang definitely makes DD...
Love seeing fellow south Floridians on the forum! ✊?
if you ever need another tune, you should check out JaviTuned on Instagram - he tunes a ton of 10th gens around the area.
he also thinks the W1 is the best turbo for the platform. He put it above PRL’s. That was also before the W2 though.
I still lean more toward user error. But that’s purely from an anecdotal stand point.
I’d love to know how many they’ve proven to have failed due to the turbo itself, but I also highly doubt they’d be transparent with that data, especially if didn’t look good.
Yea that’s part of the reason why I started buying their parts. I loved reading all their blog posts for R&D and how well connected they seem to this community. I’m sure their busy and all, but if I saw a thread like this I’d want to jump in and at least say SOMETHING.
ive been sending it...
Also interested in this response. Everyone I’ve known that has blown W1 turbos really beats on their car a lot, doesn’t have proper mods for proper power, and does things like rolling anti-lag which we all know is terrible over time for the turbos.
I’m not going to lie, it makes me nervous that...
