Anyone around Baltimore, MD or Southern PA interested in a set of basically brand new FK8 wheels and tires. I only drove them the 40 miles home from the dealership in my 2020 Type R and immediately threw on the WedsportsTC105x's I had from the car I had to replace. Asking $800
Ripped the heat shield out today, when the car's running you still can hear a rattle coming from the front left of the engine bay right around the VTC actuator area. Better not run it again until I swap it out.
I went ahead and ordered a new VTC actuator from Japan and it came pretty quickly luckily. The car does seem pretty lacking in the very low rpms, but then again it's an NA engine with barely any power. My cat heat shield is rusted to hell I need to remove it. From ~1k to around 3 to 3.5k it...
Yeah I replaced all of the valve guides to combat that, plus brand new valves.
I had a machine shop bead blast and resurface the head as well as install the valve guides and seat valves. They bored/honed the block as well but I did everything else with the motor.
Checking main bearing and rod...
I had the random misfires before the rebuild. I mainly did a rebuild because of the mileage and to be able to run big power from a turbo.
I didn't change the VTC actuator on the cam. The valvetrain looked immaculate on teardown other than the valves and valve guides. Had bad oil consumption...
Over the winter/spring I pulled the engine and did a full engine rebuild. Bore/honed the block for JE forged pistons, Skunk2 alpha rods. Resurfaced and rebuilt the head with Manley dual valve springs, new valve guides, seals, and valves. I spent hours lashing the valves multiple times to...
It does, but you have to jack the car up from the front side first to be able to slide a jack back there... unless someone makes like a 6 foot long low profile jack.
This car is so rigid I'll usually jack it up by the drivers door as high as I can, put a jackstand at the rear door, drop it back...
Lmao why are you using that turd's picture as your avatar?
I've spent about $7.5k on breathing and go faster parts, and $3k on my wheels/tires. No regrets. But I plan on keeping the car as long as I can. Shit when I was getting my parts off my totaled 19, I sabotaged it so whoever got the...
Has anyone noticed a difference with rotation having more front downforce running the stock wing? I had an APR gurney flap on my 19 and i didn't think to take a heat gun to it to remove it before the car went to salvage. I was exhausted from working all day getting my parts off and I had a...
Invest in the hondata fuel system, or kick it up a notch with motec ecu and supplemental port injection.
Only just Monday did I finally get a flex fuel kit and it's been an entirely different world. Since that evening I've already drove around for over 500 miles at E45 (plus or minus 4%,)...
Yeah but all of those miles from that tank were me data logging and testing, so I was flooring it every chance I have. So damn addicting
I do with flex fuel. On pump gas it increases IAT way too much therefore lowering ignition etc. On flex it's not as bad
Haha I need to get another camera...
I mean you can sit there and spray the shit out of the grille/radiator with a hose on full blast and there not be a drop off water on the intake or the whole top of the engine
This is the biggest drawback to running flex. On 93 even if I drive it really hard or sit and idle some it'll still be 18mpg lol.
Last night I got some awesome driving in with a ton of great pulls. Starting in 4th gear it did a 62-124 in 9 seconds flat. Before this the best I ever saw was 10...
In the winter time they add butane to the gas and increases the fuels likelihood to knock, all winter I had to deal with making sure I wasn't getting knock retard and I even had to resort to lowering ignition tables below to what basemaps had. It was a huge pain in the ass. This winter with...
Yeah man, i just tried the default aircharge tables so far, at the very top end, aircharge is still 190%. Have you tried increasing them?
With less boost you can run much more ignition timing on flex. At the top end this is a big deal because the stock turbo can only put out so much torque...
This is 100% false.
You use E45 for the stock turbo and with the fuel system it most certainly increases power and torque all throughout the powerband. You won't get over 400ft/lbs on the stock fuel system.
I just installed my flex fuel kit and ran e35 and e45 and I can tell a big difference...
I just took the tune I've been using and checked the flex fuel mods and unchecked ect2 stuff. Seems to transfer real well. I flashed a tune, drove 20 miles for the nearest e85 pump mixed a e35 blend but I meant to do more. Time to go do more driving and burn more fuel to add more ethanol...
