I don't think anyone would recommend you to keep driving on that tire. Just buy an used wheel with tire from FS forum, preferably with similar mileage. Or if you only want to buy one tire, ask tirerack to shave the new one to match the depth.

They do make a black one, the part number is somewhere in that thread also. It is rarer on ebay and usually more expensive. Of course you can always just buy it new at the dealer.

Did your rear Goodridge brake line fit in the bracket (the one you pointed to at around 7:28)? Mine was too big and I had to file the hole to get it to fit.

I doubt the razorblade can cut through the steel belt inside but you should watch out if the thread starts separating.
