Yeah makes me laugh when people say they can’t feel it working and it’s not as good as a flash tune but then won’t datalog to show that it’s actually adding boost properly. It’s definitely noticeable you can feel the torque increase. Worked well on golf R I owned as well.
Don’t know about your old car. There ain’t no way on the type R or golf R that you would not feel the difference under acceleration. If it adds 4 psi you should feel it. Traction control will feel it too. I’m saying that as your jb4 would have included the Bluetooth connect kit you should be...
Yes golf r. George at burger would help create a custom map 6 once guys were FBO or using ethanol etc. that's where the jb4 shines the fact that you can custom tune the boost by rpm. he would just push and push and tell the catalogs show that you are getting throttle closures, knock etc
do you have the jb4 app? when you go full throttle it will start logging. upload the file to n54tech honda forum and terry will review the logs. you can look at it yourself if you download the desktop program it logs lots of different parameters. psi, speed, rpm,Iat, how much boost the ECU would...
Pressure drop from larger intercooler and the fact your charge air is cooler prob why.
Data log it this will tell you your ecu psi and target boost requested by jb4.
How does the acuity short shift feel? I honestly thought the type R gearbox was perfect as it is. Flex fuel kit looks like a good investment no more calculators and test kits.
I feel like with the jb4 the type R feels faster than both my focus rs and golf r from say 50 to 120 and they were both tuned. It’s obviously not as good from a launch. But in reality I never launch my vehicles anyway. It’s the overtaking / rolls where the type r really shines and kills...
On stock intercooler I’m hitting high 24’s. and it’s cold here at the moment. But I have never had it flat out on a track. Just quick pulls on the highway or overtaking a few cars etc.
I'm not sure about that really. I remember people used to say on the golf R forums that they can see parameters but as far as I know not one person has had a warranty claim denied from a jb4. however it would be interesting if any Honda technicians can chime in on this.
