Not sure what you expect to hear. iT's nOt aN isSUE as far as my 2017 civic goes, but then again, I live in California. I change my oil every 4500 miles, get a oil sample analyzed every 10k, reports show engine wear as being very good. Sounds like you're not happy with the car, so sell it and...
Update 1: Switched from Hondata Carb to Ktuner V2 with Phearable OTS tune
Update 2: 8 month Phearable non-SI 1.5 tune use, oil analysis changes are in italics and underlined.
Update 3: Stopped using Costco 91 gas, see "Fuel used" for details. Minor updates on total miles driven and time since...
Neither one of those exhausts are going to be louder than your current straight pipe. You'll need to get a downpipe as suggested, or increase the overall diameter of the exhaust pipe from what you have now. Be aware with a down pipe you probably have problems when it comes time for a smog check...
There can be two ways to change the height of the coil overs, the wrong way is by compressing the spring to make it shorter, or the recommended way is the adjust the perch hieght area underneath the spring. In the photo below, you want to make any changes in height by adjusting the top gold nut...
No real problems with my setup. I'm lowered about 1.5" ( 38mm) and have the firmness settings about 5/8 of the way to full firm on the front struts, and 1/2 way to full firm on the back struts. Wheel set up is 225/4/ -17 Michelin Pilots 4 on Enkei 17" x 8" rims. Only suspension issues I've...
Just a heads up, there wasn't a whole lot of clearance between the LX calipers and the 15" wheels. The wheels were from a 9th gen civic that I was using while I was getting the 10th gen rims and tires mounted. If I get some time this weekend, I'll bolt on the 15" wheels and try and get some...
I can verify Honda's OEM 15" x 6" wheels with 205-60 15" tires will fit with no issues, other than looks a little weird having rims and tires that small on a 10th gen.
If you live in Riverside, they have free curbside pick up for up to 5 gallons of oil along with old filters and oily rags. Don't remember the number to call, but you can probably find in on-line City Services. If you live outside the city, Pick-a-Part had a big dump tank you could use, they...
I believe the OP has the 2.0 engine, which is going to limit his off the shelf choices. I only know f the Invidia N1, and the Ark Performance DT-S center conversion exhaust as being specifically made for the K20 equipped sedans. Ones around $600, the other is around $1200. If you want cheaper...
The question I have is all the guys who say catch cans aren't needed, what sort of real world experience do you base that opinion on? I've run a Mishimoto catch can for the last 5 years, it does collect a measurable amount of oil, especially as the engine miles accumulate or if I drive the car...
Just from my experience, black wheels are a royal P.I.A. to keep clean. That's the color my wife chose for her rims, it only takes a day for them to start getting dusty after cleaning them. A brushed silver or gunmetal gray finishes are a lot more forgiving when it comes to looking clean.
It's your car, you have the right to ruin it if you want. Be sure to run turbo whistles in your exhaust as well to enhance and complete the cool car sound effects. :rolleyes...
Jeez, and people complain about how many fake vents are on the Civic, the front end of that thing is nothing but one huge vent, and the hood vents look straight out of a JC Whitney catalog. Too each their own, but that Corolla is fugly as hell in my book.
