Any other plans to develop other modifications for the 2.0L NA K20C2? I'm thinking an intake manifold would net some nice gains since it would let the engine breathe better. A frontpipe would be neat as well. I already have the RV6 catless downpipe.
I'm down at Virginia Beach. I haven't been up to NoVa in probably over 2 years and my car looked a WHOLE lot different. We have a little civic group for VA. I think we have some peeps in NoVa as well.
I have slight negative camber in the rears and probably am due for new tires soon but that just means I was able to slide around easier. I'm from VA too! What part are you in?
L15s are garbage motors imo. There's cooling issues, the displacement is quite low even with the help of the turbo, and there's head gasket issues. The K20C2 isn't meant to be modified heavily and has a lot of parts unique to the engine (which isn't a good thing). It would be nearly all custom...
I have a 2018 LX-P and have modified it pretty heavily. KTuner should be the first mod. Hondata won't work with the 2.0Ls. CAI will be nice for sound and that's about it. PRL is coming out with an intake for the 2.0L so keep an eye on that. I also recommend a strut bar. One mod I haven't done...
Primer specifically for plastics. They sell em at Autozone or even Walmart I believe. Make sure it's for use on plastic or it's going to peel off. Don't forget to clear coat it too!
Has anyone removed the tank and painted it with success? I'm getting to that point where my engine bay is coming along but this tank is insanely ugly. Any instructions/tips/tricks on the removal and replacement? I know to use shop rags as it'll spill and maybe top it off some but I'll have to...
Yeah there's a ton of things you can adjust and tweak to how you want your car to run. I'm not knowledgeable on how to tune a car. I understand the basics of what needs to be done but I do not know how to do it.
91 minimum octane is required to run correctly. I'm guessing there's additional...
Yep I'm running the Improved Throttle Response II and have been since 5,000 miles (I'm at ~38,000). It makes a night and day difference. Best mod out there for the K20C2's along with the throttle response change.
KTuner has a base tune which is the only available one from the company but it is...
While I wait on my bar to arrive so it can be welded up, I've been running a harness bar using the rear mounting points for the backseats. Granted I don't own a Type R but this may help for those (like myself) who need a visual to understand. I took out the seatbelt assemblies since the harness...
Touching the terminals together? Just leave it unhooked for at least 10 minutes. I'd let it idle for a solid 5 minutes too so it can adjust the parameters as needed. That's not the official verbiage but I'm pretty sure that's the procedure. Oh and drive it around afterwards. I would think 30...
I named mine Slow so when I refer to my vehicle I say, "yeeeaaah she's slow" which doubles as both her name and the fact that she be really really slow some days. If I ever break the 500hp+ milestone I'll give her a proper name but for nowi t's Slow.
Productive 2-3 days. Fixed the mismatched coilovers (I installed them on the wrong side and as such the front sway bar end links broke), put the Whiteline sway end links in, adjusted the harnesses and yes I know I need to get a roll bar at the minimum just waiting on it to get here, mounted the...
I have a specific wrench I throw in my garage when I've had enough and usually my hat follows suit. Lately the car's been behaving but I swear I hear a ever so slight clicking from my recent end link install like something's loose and it's driving (pun intended) me crazy.
Yeah that's the fancy...
The compression ratio for the Type R is actually 9:8 with the K20C2 (NA Base) at 10:8. As far as the transmission yes that will be a point of weakness that will have to be addressed on anything over 250hp which seems to be the limit for the L15B motors. I'm doing some guestimation and saying the...
I find yelling at the car and calling it vulgar names helps. Of course when I say helps I mean me calm down and not the actual issue at hand. The Sport has the fancy infotainment system correct?
He wasn't exactly forthcoming with some of the answers he provided and did try to act knowledgeable about much of the engine architecture which was either a guess or flat out wrong.
However, I respect him for comitting and actually doing something like this. Most people talk about oh I'm going...
If you neglect to roll your fenders they will eventually roll themselves with enough potholes and dips. That's how I did mine.
Jokes aside, you want there to be no rubbing at a full turning angle and obviously no rubbing with normal daily driving on a relatively flat surface or else it will...
I had this issue awhile back and I can't remember for the life of me how I resolved it. Disconnect and reconnecting the battery would essentially reset the system so as a last resort that should clear up the issue. I'm not sure how you would turn off the antitheft system for the trims with...
Hey CivicX Fam!
I recently replaced my OEM front sway bar end links with the more beefy Whitelines. While working on the install I realized that I had my coilovers on the wrong sides. That explains how the OEM ones when from 1 piece to several pieces since the coilover came into contract with...
