How many of you can monitor your oil temps here raise your hand please.
How many of you with hands up have tried higher grade oil and what have you observed?
@Lust i suggest you stop educating yourself from aftermarket parts websites but nothing there is incongruent with what i said. Their aim is to sell you an oil to air cooling device to improve cooling, or oil to water cooling device.
Do you know what your oil temps were at the track? Do you know...
Have you monitored your oil temps and tried it? I said if this overheating is happening with oem 0w20 oil being tracked id start there is all i said. Its common sense. Not go changing radiators or adding hardware instead.
I am sorry @Lust but i didnt make the rules, i merely observed them on a...
Let me add that youre wrong on the higher grade oil raising temps for one. I went from 0w20 to 0w40 and my operating temps went from 230 to 215. Thats real world data reflective of laws of thermodynamics where higher grade oil takes more energy to raise its temp by 1deg, thus resulting in lower...
I did read the thread carefully and laws of physics are same whether i own a horse buggy or an fk8.
Just because you wrote a thread on something it doesnt become an authority on the subject, does it?
Oh and logic too. Source of problem is engine heat (oil temps), so why skip addressing the...
First thing buy a radiator? I dunno about that, personally id try running one grade thicker oil and see what that does to your engine oil temps, which is the source of the problem. You could also run distilled water as water is the best coolant really. Then if that doesnt work id consider an oil...
Oh TPS is throttle pos sensor? If so, there was a slight increase 1%.
I can blip my pedal and my fuel trims go from 5 to -15%. The gentler i touch it the bigger the delta temporarily. Just saying.
Is this the first base map or 2nd or 3rd or nth map?
Yea science... belief and feeling is what matters nowadays, you so trendy.
Curious as to how you tested it at 25%. And if you tested it at 25 why you confusing us with two blends 30 and 25, just felt like it?
Its way safer to get a proper tune rather than boltons with oem tune.
Yes max out the oem setup with a proper tune for it first. Then if not enough add boltons and tune for them. If you live in a really hot climate maybe an intercooler would help, but id look at datalogs first to confirm.
I havent read other responses but why would you do it backwards? The tune is the most beneficial part of the process, the boltons are add ons once tune maxes out.. to allow for even more tuning, if that makes sense.
if you have access to e85 i would get hondata ots e25 tune and be done. The car...
Pure marketing. Shameless depends on what side one looks at it from, subjective. Ones sides freedom fighters are other sides terrorists.
Are you saying you agree a car picks up 100awhp on one single AKI octane point increase, or that e50 is 94oct?
In fact, what are you saying? I am saying that...
Yes but both are different than 99octane rating alleged by posters here for e85 as well as sunoco website. I was trying to say that both actual and effective ratings are much higher.
Whats your point @Gruber? Are you alleging a disrepancy in the paper with facts or assuming my understanding of...
For those on the less literate and more lazy spectrum.. this is the jist.
Yes @Gruber, just posted it for ppl to see. But i was also trying to say, if you run 10deg timing and 20psi boost, that will set the power (with air of course). So having a higher than needed octane to achieve it is...
Here we go again with octane ratings.
So my wrx running e51 in az (94 oct according to claims) picked up 50whp from 93oct tune? Im sure the same power is achievable at lower levels like e35-40. Cars with EWG make additional 50awhp on e50 spicier (94 octane?) tune obviously not limited by fuel...
