Yep, to add on to what Hondaman said, when I first got my 2016, I noticed the front bumper and the rear bumper was not flush with the body. There was gaps in between the bumper and quarter panel that was larger on the left passenger side than the drivers side.
There’s always going to be small...
Even if they found holes in the AC system or the condenser, they’d find a way to blame you for the problem which would not be covered under warranty.
Hi Rickmeister,
Would it be possible if you can walk us through how you got to NCDS and having them contact Honda and go through the process? I may end up doing the same as well here for other unrelated issues.
Thanks
Thanks for the link. I'd do this myself, however, it's way above what I'm comfortable with. Especially on a car that is under warranty and is a lease.
Just can't wait to get rid of this car and be done with this petty bullshit as well.
Maybe I should seek another dealer and have them take a look at the condenser?
But don’t want to pay another diagnostics fee for a car that is under warranty. Any ideas? Suggestions?
From what I understand the dark spot is normal? Or is it a sign that Freon was leaked from that particular location? There is several other dark spots smaller in diameter.
I’ll try to look at and around there dark spots to see if there is any impact point to determine if a rock or stone actually...
Makes sense. I have a few areas where the fins are bent but that’s to be expected. If my condenser can fail because of a rock or stone then where’s the intercooler complaints? Here’s a picture of how mine looks
No but maybe I can get some help from other members. Not sure what other course of action to take from here on. Hopefully Honda will realize the design oversight and offer to replace condensers
Yes sir. Not sure if I should get it fixed now. We still have about 3 months of hot summer days left, however, the car is only driven 2-3 times a week. Not sure if it’s actually worth it at this point.
I called up my insurance company, they said becuase the damage was due to road debris, it would fall under comprehensive. With my deductible, I'd still pay out of pocket for something that should've been covered under warranty.
I can try to replace the condenser myself, however, it is a lease...
I called Honda USA right when I got to the dealer, they basically told me to I'm out of luck and have to pay the diagnostic fee.
So now I'm here out of $150 and a non-working AC.
Thanks Honda.
So the service center called and they’re stating I have punctures in the condensor which is not covered under warranty. I do have to pay a diagnostics fee and even called Honda to dispute it. Can’t seem to win. Anyone have any ideas of what to do next? Car only has 16k miles and do not feel...
I dropped my Civic this morning and just received a call from the service center and they're stating that something might've hit the condenser and that it is leaking out freon. Because it was something that happened from a use case that the warranty is unable to cover it. If they changed it and...
I also have a couple black spots on my condenser but no real big impact points except for some bent fins that probably happened from road debris or bugs. What was the outcome of your appointment?
I have some doubts but I hope the dealer isn't shady as they seem. Been going there for oil changes for a while and they've been trying to sell me on a new air and cabin filter every time while I do check to ensure their clear myself periodically. The car only has 15k miles within 27 months but...
