I have a picture of me getting a point-by from an orange McLaren at the track in my CTR. Suitable for framing! (but, as we all know, newbie driver in a supercar isn't fast, hence the point-by)
I'm at 9,000 miles on my '20 CTR and the maintenance minder still shows 30%. I'm getting ready to change it though, as that seems like too long for break in. At this rate, I'd be at 12k miles before it goes to 0%
@RepyT - thanks. Drove it today with no rubbing, but it's snowy out, so no hard cornering or acceleration. We'll have to see if they'll rub. It looks good, but tucked in another 1/2" would be better IMO.
Just picked up some Sparco Pro Corsa wheels from Tirerack. 18x8 ET29 with 245/40/18 Michelins. I screwed up and didn't pay attention to the offset. Anyone know if these will rub? I trusted the tire rack website to not let me buy something that will rub, but these things stick out much more...
You're nuts, Bryan! Come up to Denver and drive our roads and you'll be holding that button down to see if there's something cushier than Comfort Mode....
I'm in a similar boat to @gearhead . 51-55 age range. I've been a BMW guy for a long time. Started with autocross then moved on to track days for the past 15 years. Got tired of BMWs getting heavier, electric steering, and too expensive. Worst thing about the CTR is how everyone wants to...
Yes - used to provide chemicals to City of Anaheim peaking plant, as well as other plants (Newport Beach, Escondido, etc.). I now work with a 1000MW cogen plant with 7FA turbines. 3 are combined cycle, 2 are simple. Good stuff!
I hope to get in a track day later in the summer. Covid has put a big damper on track days. I think running on a warm/hot day here in Colorado would be a good test of 2020 cooling abilities, as the lower density air at our altitude makes cooling a challenge.
Did this DASC (disabling active sound control) today. 10 minute job if you have to fiddle with the plastic parts lining up, but easy peasy. Only drove about 10 miles, but I found the ASC a bit annoying and fake. If you are giving me fake noise, make it Ferrari noise, not 2.0L turbo noise!
You obviously know how to work on cars, so that's great. I bought a 2020 hoping that it won't overheat at the track. I'm no pro, and not a novice.... somewhere in between. Let us know how your track days go!
