I would only worry about piston slap if you can't let the engine warm up some before you drive it and fully warm before you get on boost. If you can stay with stock internals, which can take around 350ft-lbs on the engine you got, I would though. A good tune will ensure there is no detonation...
That's my research as well, not getting springs until at least next year as it's my daily and there are other mods I can do in the meantime to improve performance. I'm also not sure if I'll do bilstein performance struts and whitelines or splurge another 5-800$ and go for coilovers.
All the above is great info, as for shifting gears, just release the clutch at a constant rate, no need to ride the friction point while shifting, you'll just wear it faster that way.
When I drove my 200TW tires, I'm pretty sure I lost 1L/100 easily, car was slowing down on fairly steep downhills I normally have to use my brakes with the Contis. Can't wait to try the RT660s properly...
I like the AEM, ran it on 2-3 cars so far(10+ years total) with 0 issues. I check my intake tube once a year and find no dust deposits whatsoever. K&N is a toss up, if you don't oil it enough it lets stuff through and if you overdo it the oily film sticks to the maf sensor and can cause issues...
avg for me is 5.8L/100km, commute is mostly non-stop, 30km per trip between 80-95km/h. Highway in the hills of the maritimes, seems to be around 6L at 120. ktuner dual tune, not much else. DWS06 are awesome but did increase my fuel consumption by about 0.2L/100km from the stock conticontact...
9th gen SI has a Kseries, you have an L15, I doubt that your friend's clutch will work on your car.
RV6 retrofit is def the go-to choice, it'll hold 4-500whp so no need to plan for later upgrades. Doing a clutch on this car takes about 8-10 hours and you need to drop the subframe, steering...
I read the rule book and as long as you don't change the type of mount(I.E. going to spherical bushings, solid mounts, etc) it shouldn't be illegal. But it's a pretty gray zone in that area. RV6 stuff is most likely all illegal and why I'm keeping ball joints when replacing suspension components...
Def interested in how many miles you got out of the whiteline/spc joints. Going to install them soon, although I only autox 4-6x per year. It will be good to know and I'll keep a good eye on them for sure. Sucks to hear though after spending that much money for them.
I was running 7 and 8 year old tires last year and the rears were at or below the wear bars so not super sticky while the fronts were around 4-5/32". They were Nexen Nfera something, got them for free with the Konigs. 225/45R17 from an S2000, which, btw, has the perfect offset for a 10th gen...
I've been running constantly between -6 and -10 LTFT for 4 years, no power issues and no codes or engine trouble. just ktuner dual map, haven't touched any maps. It just means you're running a bit rich on your map and the computer is pulling fuel out to run properly.
That -20 is a bit harsh...
40 psi rear!! Damn, I was running like 28 last summer with my 225/45 200tw tires just to get the whole surface of the tires to stick. 35 Front was what I was doing too, worked well. Can't wait to try the 255/40 RT660s though, the little bit of street driving I did was pretty impressive. Prob...
Too much rotation is not a good thing, even for a good driver. Try the softest setting next and see what that does. The middle setting will be in between those. Best to go from one end to the other first to understand what min and max settings do to the car.
you don't need an android phone, that's all I ever had, but as the others probably explained a bit better than me, 2 bluetooth connections on the same unit can and will cause connectivity issues.
Honestly though, if you're like me, you'll run tunerview lite a lot the first month or and then get...
You just need to buy Hondahack for all features, basic hondahack is enough unless you want to have the extra features the extra bit adds.
Tunerview lite does use bluetooth, so it will interfere with both just using your phone for music or android auto/apple carplay. You can run both together...
Been running amsoil 5w-30 for about 85k miles, changing it every 7-8k. Car was in northern Canada for a year and had zero issues with cold starts. The engine does sound less tinny/metallic past 4k rpm with the heavier weight oil, plus oil dilution is less of a concern if it thins down.
as...
I don't have a lot of experience with android auto, but for the headunit to run other programs like Youtube, I'm pretty sure you have to hack your head unit. Hondahack worked great for me, allows tunerview to be installed as well as pretty much everything you can think of. It's not super...
