  1. Rust on the underbody after six years [photos included]

That's how the bottom looks, just if anyone is curious about this
  2. Backup camera installation

@Amal There's a good video, were someone shows how to install the backup camera on a 2012-2017 Accord: I know it's not even a Civic and it's a previous gen, but to me it looks like the installation might be pretty similar to installing it on a 10th gen Civic. I know I could be wrong, but I'd...
  3. How much would it cost to replace the entire CVT?

Good luck. Please let us know then, how it went, how much it was and how much labour / hours were needed.
  4. Backup Camera Alternatives

Here is another video, about someone replacing the backup camera on his Civic sedan. He just bought a replacement camera, so he didn't had to mess around with all the wiring:
  5. Backup Camera Alternatives

That's a good question. I'd assume it will still make a big difference. The backup camera seems like 426 x 240 pixels. If you watch a video on the head unit from your USB drive or YouTube, the video quality doesn't seem as bad. Just from comparing these two videos you posted, the Joying backup...
  6. Rust on the underbody after six years [photos included]

I guess so, because right in front of the CVT cooler is the housing of the radar sensor, so no air is coming from there. On the bottom there's a sealing, so I guess it uses the air coming from the middle of the front bumper, were the A/C condenser is sitting.
  7. Rust on the underbody after six years [photos included]

Yes the unbraked tow rating in Germany is 500 kilogram (1100 lbs) for both the CVT and the MT. Braked tow rating is 1200 kg (2645 lbs) for the manual transmission and 800 kg (1764 lbs) for the CVT. I remember many germans were complaining about those little small rating numbers. For...
  8. Backup Camera Alternatives

Still no one here, who replaced the rear view camera with a higher res camera? This seems like a good aftermarket replacement, they say "This is a high-quality aftermarket replacement part manufactured by WXZOS.": https://www.amazon.ca/39530-TBA-A01-BackUp-Parking-Camera-2014-2019/dp/B09GB7B3PJ
  9. Rust on the underbody after six years [photos included]

And that's how the wheel house cover looks on the side were the factory built-in CVT cooler is located:
  10. 2017 1.5t blown head gskt too!

@bbeem Thanks! @Lghtspeed said his CR-V wasn't tuned, so it shouldn't be too much of a deal, if he used only used E87 all the time?
  11. 2017 1.5t blown head gskt too!

Because using E85 for a long time can contribute to the problem right? I'm using 95 octane (european) with 10% ethanol which should be the equivalent to 91 octane in the United States.
  12. Changed CVT transmission fluid at 67k miles (mostly highway) and WOW!

I'm not driving it hard at all, as can be seen on my fuelly log 🙂 In Europe CVT maintenance minder pops up at latest 24k miles or every other year no matter how one drives.
  13. Changed CVT transmission fluid at 67k miles (mostly highway) and WOW!

I get the CVT fluid changed every other year or 24,000 miles, whatever comes first. That's when "CVT fluid" pops up on maintenance minder. Downside of that is, I never felt any differences with a new CVT fluid, no smoother shifting nor better responsiveness 😆
  14. 2017 1.5t blown head gskt too!

Seems like a good oil and it has the right specs, but it's the wrong type of engine oil since Honda recommends only to use 0W-20 on this engine. If 0W-20 is not available 0W-30 or 5W-30 are also fine. I have heard of some blow head gaskets on this engine in the US, but somehow this doesn't seem...
  15. 2017 1.5t blown head gskt too!

ACEA A3/B3 HTHS viscosity of ≥ 3.5 mPas, less evaporation losses, high piston cleanliness and oxidation stability, expires 2023 ACEA A5/B5 HTHS viscosity of 2.9-3.5 mPas, other standards correspond to A3/B4 ACEA C2 Mid SAPS, sulfated ash content max. 0.8%, HTHS ≥ 2.9 mPas
  16. 2017 1.5t blown head gskt too!

I wonder if using not the recommended engine oil could contribute to OPs blown head gasket? In Europe Hondas owners manual is pretty strict about specifications: Use whether ACEA C2 or ACEA A3/B3 or A5/B5. I don't know what's in the US manual in terms of API specifications and if OPs Mobil1...
  17. 2017 1.5t blown head gskt too!

@Lghtspeed Every 4000 miles sounds sounds good, which type of 0W-20 Mobil 1 engine oil are you using exactly?
  18. Tank capacity and warning for low fuel

Only a few of them have. Where I live maybe 5% of all gas stations have credit card insert. That's indeed ridiculous. And what makes it even worse, some of these few gas stations, turn the credit card insert off during the day, so you still have to go inside.... One more thing, gas stations...
  19. Oil Dilution in 2018 Civic 1.5 Turbo. What actions to take?

That's why I was asking him, to tell more. Some say digging deep into the throttle from time to time won't help at all. But driving a long distance, let's say for 30 minutes, at a high rate of speed might help to get rid of the oil dilution.
  20. Tank capacity and warning for low fuel

That's because the range with this car is so little, it's almost like driving an EV. And also because I hate going to gas stations. In Germany we don't have the convenience to pay directly at the gas pump. We're forced to go inside the gas station, then wait for other customers, interact with...
