Matches very well in person, does not match well in photos.
No spare tire kit, but the mat fits OK despite that. Too bad they didn't go ahead with the redesign, seems like an odd choice given the relatively minor changes.
Zero regrets sending money to Hondata, and that's even including the over and above cost of remote clone service.
That said, I'd be wary of anyone that swore up and down that one was absolutely better than the other with regards to Hondata VS Ktuner. Too many fanboys spouting BS without any...
I'll be the first to admit I don't know dick about how the oil pressure system actually works on the K20C engine, but the reported oil pressure is definitely not "raw". We know it's reported from the "Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Sensor", which should be variable cam timing related. From the data...
Put in a lithium battery. ATX-30RS by Antigravity Batteries and the corresponding tray by LC Fabrications.
Played around with the location until I was happy that it was going to take the least amount of modification. I bolted the LC Fab aluminum tray to the stock battery tray sheetmetal to...
For me, it's worth it and it is my daily. I wanted more rattle and rumble, and I got what I wanted. I did feel that the stock setup was too refined (exhaust as well). I would recommend it with the caveat that you really need to "want" the change, unless you actually require the mount for wheel...
Safe? Sure. Efficient? Nope.
For reference, I'm breaking traction at the top of second gear on the 91 octane tune. This is a torque request of 480 at the very top end (6500 - 7000). You're going to be pulling a bunch of timing out if you copy paste that 480 torque request across the entire RPM...
Are you on 62 or 82 durometer mounts?
I'm loving the higher speed cruise gear whine; like a tame version of a straight-cut gear transmission. Down low in speed is definitely a more crunchy noise, especially the transition between on and off throttle.
The only thing I find annoying is the...
Short version of impressions after getting a chance to drive the full 62 durometer kit: all of Honda's hard work at reducing NVH has been successfully undone.
Vibrations at idle are very pronounced, enough to shake the hood. Frequency of vibration is just right to resonate and turn the cabin...
OK, 62 durometer motor mount kit install complete. I didn't take enough pictures for a complete step by step, but here's some lessons learned and an overview of the process.
First of all, this is an all day job if you take your time. I did transmission mount first, engine mount second, and...
Hasport engine mount install in progress. Forgot about not having hex drive sockets at the house, so off to grab a set for final torque... Glad I started with the hard side, it's all downhill from here :)
Removing the pressure ratio protection is a really bad idea without the proper knowledge and tools.
The stock logic is keeping you out of both surge and choke conditions on the compressor wheel. If you drive the turbo hard enough into these regions, you can expect it to fail and send various...
I used the missing hardware as an excuse to screw with things that don't matter that much :)
Bought some AN hardware for the main motor mount bolts. Nice thing about AN hardware is that you can spec them for the correct shoulder length (AKA not putting shear load through the threaded section)...
Found those through the great Google on my end as well and thought, "No way it's just two pages of incomplete hardware references and a callout for the FCSTK kit instead of the FK8STK kit, that would suck". Got instructions from Hasport through email yesterday. Turns out those really are the...
Man, these Hasport folks need to get their shit together when it comes to packaging QC.
Decided that I could get by without instructions and use standard torque specs for M10 and M12 hardware. Really glad I took a better look at the hardware included before tearing the engine bay apart. Turns...
Around 3 hours. I was in no rush though, and really took my time. I messed with all of the adjustments for at least half an hour as well until I was happy.
If I did it again, I think I could beat Acuity's quoted 90 minutes without issue.
Finally took the time to install the Acuity shifter. So much better!
Going to leave the interior torn apart for now and mess with settings. Only driven it once, but loving it so far. Currently sitting at gate set on 1 of 3 (widest), throw set to 4 of 5 (shorter), and height at 4 of 5 (higher).
