  1. Boostane Octane Booster

It is truly amazing that Octane Boosters are still selling. If anything at all, don’t tune for it just use it for a smidge of insurance. It is way more expensive than Racing fuel or Ethanoll and it doesn’t mix very well unless you only have a gallon of pump in the tank.
  2. What does everyone think of the upcoming Mazda3 2.5Turbo?

Reportedly it will be. But, it is a 3cyl that is very happy only up high. Maybe by Summer 2022 or mid Fall depending on the Global setbacks from all of the current events.
  3. 1.5T Rough Idle

So Flash tune - rough idle Stock Tune - idle ok Could also be the quality of fuel from the station you use/d? Certain Intakes can also cause a little in AFR adjustments at Stoic or otherwise. I doubt that though, as your stock tune isn’t creating the same problem. It’s simply heat that is 1)...
  4. What does everyone think of the upcoming Mazda3 2.5Turbo?

Would have to know how the Transmission is programmed into the power delivery and the final gear ratio. The Si’s on base tunes are still more agile than the Mazda may be; plus vehicle weight and suspension diagram. Numbers don’t shed truth on the whole set-up of a vehicle. The biggest...
  5. Time to say goodbye CivicX

I get the move into a BMW. An entirely different class of vehicle with different purpose. No biggy.
  6. Time to say goodbye CivicX

Hmm....doesn’t seem that “pricing” of an Si was a deal breaker at all. A 235 sure wasn’t cheap, unless you leased that too?
  7. Front passenger Brake leaking.....what would you do?

That’s good you did that. Leaks in the brake system would only be warranteed if a part was defective. Tears in hoses are “wear and tear”. If you enjoy the sport of driving, get Steal brake lines and you’ll get a tad better bite and peace of mind not tearing a line.
  8. Car is bogging down.

@ChefFaz84 I cannot see your tune files, as you are Hondata and I only have the KTuner Software. However, I have seen these types of cut-offs before. It relates to the "crank pulley". If it happens to slip at that specific load point your engine shuts itself down as a safety measure. I am not...
  9. CoVID-19 Isolation? Start your Civic

So you have a vehicle and the battery may be losing its luster. So you have paint that chips. So you have an A/C problem. Whatever the issue or problem is there are warranties that cover them. If the warranty is out of tolerance, then maintenance is up to you. Choose a vehicle that you are 100%...
  10. CoVID-19 Isolation? Start your Civic

That email is to get people to come in to dealerships and take care of their vehicle (if needed). They are addressing this to everyone regardless of personal characteristics. Stick to vehicle related topics on Car Forums and post all of the other topics on other social media. They would be...
  11. 1.5T Rough Idle

Be very mindful with the quantity of oil you apply. Doesnt take very much. Pink is better than full on Red. Let it dry a little to and use a nice cloth or paper towel to rub off any residual oil on the top surfaces.
  12. 1.5T Rough Idle

Yeah, not with the TSP since they lock that. Uncertain if they would do it even if you requested it. Might push you in the direction of a custom tune if you were to choose.
  13. 1.5T Rough Idle

Well, you shouldn’t have any timing that low anyway. WHAT is your idle speed? Just try the MAF and as long as you haven’t goofed with the voltage cleaning it might clear you up. If not, try raising your idle by a 100?
  14. 1.5T Rough Idle

I will assume that you are not experiencing performance loss, since you did not disclose that. Use the scan with your tuning device and check to see if there are any codes. Also, acquire a can of MAF cleaner and disconnect and clean that sensor and determine if the idle yet exists. Often, a...
  15. 1.5T Rough Idle

@Yaminashi Weather has been increasing in OH right? You are on an aftermarket tune and adding additional load to the engine running the A/C. You very well may just be experiencing HEAT. You explain that it happens with the AC on and after you return from somewhere. You could very well just...
  16. Yep that happened

In the voice of Darth Vader, “Impressive..”
  17. Can hot weather and high humility cause high negative long term fuel trim ?

Right, but your adjustments to the MAF voltage is still the same as if you had the Ram installed right? Different intake s will register differently.
  18. Carbon buildup on valves in GDI

I would recommend Pennzoil Platinum. Keep with the recommended 0W-20. It has a high detergent/dispersant additive - higher than Mobile 1. you will notice that it gets just a smidge darker quicker than some others, but that just is proof in the “pudding” that displays its ability to suspend...
  19. Can hot weather and high humility cause high negative long term fuel trim ?

If you adjusted the MAF when you had the Short Ram on before, then Yes - stick with that. Otherwise the readings will be off any other way.
  20. Yep that happened

Brother, the economy gauge makes a calculation by counting the number and duration of pulses made by the fuel injectors as they squirt gasoline into the combustion chambers of the engine. The onboard computer system divides the distance the car travels by this estimated fuel consumption. It...
