Okay, so I've adjusted the volume when it was ringing, answered the phone (and turned it up for the conversation). At next ring it was at the higher volume (or so I recall, I may have to try this again). I'm using an official Apple cable as well.
It'd just be nice if the ring volume was set...
When I have my iphone plugged into the usb port and am using carplay, the volume of the incoming call ringtone and the speaking volume appear to be inseparable. So, when I talk on the phone, I usually have to set it to 27/28 ish to be able to hear the other person clearly, but if I don't...
The wikipedia article states that an "active crossover" is one that splits which is then sent to amplifiers/amplifier modules before sending the signal out. That's what I was going off of.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_crossover#Active
Okay, so, the active crossover splits the signal and sends it to independent amplifier modules which then pass the signal on to the respective speaker. Is an active crossover a separate thing from the DSP or is it all intertwined?
So - to summarize:
you believe the signal going from the head unit to the amp to be full-range/good quality (and non-standard optical?)
you believe the DSP on the amp itself is what alters the signal and results in crappy sound
you don't think it's the crossovers built into the amp that is...
But, if you do that, wouldn't you be sending only signals 80Hz and up to the sub? The front speakers are not full range and as such do not reproduce the bass frequencies - and if those are the source that you are sending through the LOC and to an amp, I think you'll be missing out on any low...
So, my understanding is that the lc2i does NOT do signal summing (see 4th response down by "audio control": https://www.caraudio.com/threads/audiocontrol-lc2i-can-it-sum.570100/). So, if you patch into the fronts you have a high-pass filter working against you, if you patch into the sub, you...
This isn't the first time i've heard Hondahack + Viper was the way to go, but is there any consensus on what options us iPhone users have? Also, does any other product besides itunes allow you to still access Siri/CarPlay or is that something people give up?
I'm quite happy with the feel of the shifter (stock fluid) except for going into reverse. I love the notchy feel, feels sort of like a bolt action in a rifle to me.
Has anyone condensed (great pun...get it?) the information in these threads into something more viewable by trim level and year? I'd be curious to see if the condensers failing are on non-turbo cars more often. The intercooler blocks the condenser, so it should protect it.
Ugh, good point. I should have remembered that. Well, my little experiment didn't work out too well. With the bass and sub all the way up, the stock amp barely had enough to make my 12 look like it was doing something. I was really thinking a sub which had a better chance to reproduce those...
Scopesys - is there ANY chance you somehow measured this incorrectly? I just cannot imagine that any amplifier company (Pioneer in this case right?) would agree to send a low-pass below 40 Hz for a 8 inch sub. I mean, I ran a higher x-over for my 12's.
Additionally, were you able to...
So...if it is still dual mode, does that mean the settings are: "normal" is the same "normal" as the si and the "sport" is the same "sport" as the type r?
Oh my...not sure if I missed it or just ignored it, but I completely assumed the center speaker was for navigation voices or the DTS neural setting. I just assumed it was off otherwise. I ran out to my car and yeah...it is playing music. Crutchfield shows that it is a 3 1/2 " speaker. If...
Scopesys - thank you for all of the work you and the others have done trying to tease apart the civic "premium" audio system. I've read through it a couple of times, but it seems like there's really two options:
1. Use a LOC to add a real amp/sub, but this appears to still have some issues...
