If they are rubbing, that is not something to ignore, Can't be good for the tires or plastic
Sometimes I wonder if I should have bought another set of the Continental Extreme Nail-Magnets,
which burn tread like they were auditioning for Tokyo Drift 2.
So at least the last flat which just got...
Since they have such a huge effect on performance, safety, comfort, NVH, etc. tires are not where I would look to go cheap.
Tempting as it is.
I did not enjoy forking out $ 1,400 for my last full set of factory Continentals.
Even thought about switching to Michelins - seeing as unlike the...
For $ 195 and about a four hour or less install, not bad! I
The fact it sits taller than the original doesn't seem to be an issue. And from the comments, all positive, it works a treat.
I have been told for my 2018 FK8 by local Honda dealers in AZ that it will be fall before they have the fix for the fuel pump issue.
My thinking is that It is not a simple matter of putting back in the exact same original equipment - Honda had to engineer and manufacture a fix, that won't fail...
If and when I mod my FK8 I will be sure to add any experience to that thread.
Long term experience of others would really help those of us on the fence about tuning to feel more comfortable making the leap.
On 2017 SI purchased new that August- 52,000 miles when traded in early 2020. So a lot of miles.
that works out to about 20,800 miles /yr.
The crazy thing? It was only just on its second set of tires (upgraded Michelin Pilot Sport 4's about six months before trading), and on its original pads...
ON my 2017 SI, I eventually replaced the stock Goodyear tire with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires and noticed a huge difference.
That said, i have the original Continental Extreme Contact 6-not the actual original tires! just the same model- on my '18 Type rand really like the...
One thing that often gets overlooked when discussing oil change intervals: Your oil life is one thing, the life span of your oil filter is another. A mechanic I know pointed this out to me.
So maybe your oil is still good, but your oil filter isn't. In any case, cheap insurance.
The FL5 cooling is better mainly because the front of the car allows more air in - not because of the stock intercooler. So kind of a moot question. As is, while better than the FK8, not sure Honda totally solved the cooling issue in the FL5 from what I hear....
That seems low for your model. Given that it should be more economical than an SI or Type R.
Are you doing a lot of stop and go short trips? That would kill your mileage.
The tuner is the obvious suspect, but there are people on this forum who can address that better than yours truly.
27.7 mpg currently which is very good for an FK8. The SI did a good 5 -7 mpg better.
the mpg overall has gone up since I bought it four years ago - so apparently breaking it in helps.
I alternate between 'restrained' driving with the cruise control on where appropriate, and more spirited...
Very cool! If I had not traded my '17 SI in, I would be taking you up on this offer.
This is a no-brainer for any SI owner. Major visual improvement.
Based on early dyno results, this switch alone should add 10-15 horsepower and 20 torques, at the shifter.
Yeesh! That is not paint chipping, that is paint peeling. Someone did a really bad paint job.
I probably have more chips than a Nestle Tollhouse cookie package, but talking about things you have to look really close to see, from rocks, etc. Microchips, not macro peels.
Honda is not known for...
