Depends on the song -- I listen to bass-heavy music and generally the sub doesn't distort. There are times where it will and I need to reduce the subwoofer setting by 2-4 steps. Especially if I'm listening at high volumes.
90% of the time I'm good with it being maxed out. It's not always the...
As car enthusiasts, many of us have thoughts on the new Mazda3. As a previous owner of a marvelous 2003 Mazda6 V6, and a less-marvelous but better overall car 2011 Mazda3 2.5 (6-speed), I test drove the latest 3 sedan ($29k sticker) out of curiosity. Down the line, should Mazda decide to bring...
I'm going to respectfully disagree - I absolutely hate the A/S - I'm in the Bay Area and it's damp today. I was following a Prius on a curvy road, at moderate speeds, and I could not keep up - the car was heavily understeering. I've been in some hairy situations with these tires in the rain...
Good tires are next on my list, along with an intake. I'm not sure you'll get the performance you desire out of the A/S Michelins you've mentioned -- according to TireRack, they're the best rated tire in the high-performance all-seasons category (which is great!). Unfortunately, guess what came...
IMO, the Si is going to win these - repeatedly- for a few reasons:
- Extremely solid platform, the various Civic models have proven it's a good car to drive no matter how it's optioned out
- Extraordinary driving position
-Handling performance AND feel exceeds competitors
-The Si is not only fun...
I've had a few:
Lady at the donut shop yesterday.
Her: "Is that your Honda?"
Me: Yes it is
Her: "Accord right?"
Me: Nope, Civic Si. They're huge now, I know.
Her: "Ah, Si Si Si...my cousin had one of those...he traded it for a Prius and cries whenever he sees an Si on the road."
Good friend...
I also love the stock rims, so far more than any aftermarket wheels I've seen. The Si is one of the only cars I've ever felt this way about -- not sure what it is!
The interior on the Fiesta is not great compared to the Si. Especially now that it is technically previous gen and dated. I hear they're great to drive but personally solidity is important to me, personally, and I doubt the Fiesta can match the Civic in this respect.
Congrats! It's not my style, I'm personally not a fan of red accents (even on the Si) because I feel they've become a bit ubiquitous in the car world. But, it's your car, so if you're happy with it that's all that matters.
Alex on autos got 6.4 for the Si, forgot which tires. His numbers are pretty consistent.
Seems like it is firmly in the 6.3-6.7 space. Without the extra shift before 60 it would probably be a 6 second car. Also accounting for the cut in boost upon shifting gears.
Wow, oh my god, thank you for saying this -- I was actually going to post a thread about the A/S tires, because they are absolutely the least progressive tires I have ever experienced in my life re: traction loss. There is basically no "safety zone" when losing grip. They either have traction or...
I'm mildly disappointed you changed your photo - it was iconic. Anyways, is that something you can actually feel? Or is this because you autocross? Just curious, never actually thought about that advantage in terms of not having a sunroof.
I'm in agreement with GTman, the panel gaps are horrible. That doesn't mean we hate the car. Obviously there are more positives than negatives. But Honda should have done this better.
