  1. Long term reliability; 1.5T vs 2.0NA ?

Be really careful when you are considering a GDI engine instead of a Port Injected engine. The 1.5T is GDI, the 2.0 is PI. I would only buy a GDI if there was a dual injection system where the backs of the intake valves are getting "washed" with gasoline. Otherwise....walnuts....google it...
  2. Recall: fuel level sensor software update.

Hondalink app on my phone. Which is a useless piece of #$%&&!.....the app that is.....and ok the phone too. But the Hondalink app is a double useless piece.

  4. waze voice commands are quiet

I had to adjust the volume setting inside waze. Hit the right arrow when navigating is occurring and it should show you a volume adjust. I couldnt change it using the volume dial while it was speaking. This Android Auto version though.
  5. Recall: fuel level sensor software update.

Just got a recall notice for my 2019 EX 2.0L. Anybody else? How could the fuel level sensor be under a recall? Reads high so you run out of gas before it is close to empty?
  6. J. D. Power 2019 Vehicle Dependability Study

Honda Civic is recommended by CR for the last 6 years. Odyssey....not even close. See screen clips attached....CR also says: Honda’s reliability is bogged down by some of its new and redesigned models. The Odyssey minivan had much-worse-than-average reliability, with problems including the...
  7. Tips and Tricks

What if you leave it in gear, clutch in, no brake (don't do this on an incline...LOL) and hit stop. or electric e-brake and hit stop.....
  8. J. D. Power 2019 Vehicle Dependability Study

I think it is the Odyssey !&*! show. That one vehicle alone could be responsible for pulling Honda way down. My 08 Civic is a gem that owes me nothing. My 11 Odyssey is a POS that should have stayed in the open pit mine it came from.
  9. Tips and Tricks

Hey Captiandicki. You leave the car out of park and hit the stop button. That gets you into accessory mode I believe. Only trouble after that is that you have to put it into park and then hit the start button twice to shut off the car completely....I think. See attached for a description of the...
  10. Tips and Tricks

Morning from balmy Calgary where the extreme cold warning has just been lifted and we will be headed for a high of oh about 0F today. What the Fahrenheit is happening? Anyway, onto more exciting topics....like "Tips and Tricks". Wouldn't it be helpful to have a sticky thread called Tips and...
  11. Oil Dilution TSB

Hey I want that option.....LOL. But I guess I can just use the remote starter and wait for it to warm up before I get in.....2 liter PI engines don't have the dilution issue....hopefully....ever.
  12. Calgary: Check In

Just bought a 2019 EX Sedan 2.0L Port Injected....and.....a CVT....no MT on that trim unfortunately. Sorry for the generic pic but it shows the color nicely...and it is a Touring not an EX. Not a RICER! but happy to be part of this local group to discuss experiences and issues and maintenance...
  13. why did you buy a civic?

I am a long time Honda fan unless you get me started on my ODD-yssey. POS-yssey is more like it. Who puts an alternator under a spool valve....see I'm already going....anyway on the Civic: 1. Very appealing interior layout 2. Already owned a Civic and it hasn't owed me a single red cent since I...
  14. Oil Dilution - Education - 5 good YouTube Videos

outside of the oil dilution issue is the matter of GDI engines in general. Unless you can find a way to "wash" the back of the inlet valves with fuel spray (either through adding a port injector or creating some valve/injector overlap) you need to do some additional maintenance. At this point...
