  1. Best Cold Air intake for a 1.5Lt engine w/CVT transmission (With a stock look and no tuning requirement)

After owning both might I recommend the 27won intake over the PRL. Mostly just for the ease of accessing the filter for cleaning. The filter of the PRL intake in the fender also tends to get dirtier much more quickly as well. Both are very high quality intakes though and you can’t go wrong as...
  2. Best Cold Air intake for a 1.5Lt engine w/CVT transmission (With a stock look and no tuning requirement)

The 27won or PRL cobra intake with street maf doesn’t require a tune. If you get them with the larger race mafs then that is when it will require a tune to run properly. Either one of those two will be your best bet. It’s also much easier to change the filter on the 27won intake since the filter...
  3. 2.0L AEM vs PRL intake

27Won wrote a great blog on this. https://www.27won.com/blog/yeah-but-what-are-your-fuel-trims LTFT stands for Long Term Fuel Trims and STFT is Short Term Fuel Trims. The short term will adjust immediately and the Long Term is more a global adjustment depending on what your short term is...
  4. Perfect Oil Change Intervals Experiment

There could be a few reasons, only one I can think off the top of my head is higher viscosity oil may run hotter which could aid in burning off any fuel in the oil. The only proof I have is in my oil analysis in running 0w40 vs 5w30. The flash point of my 0w40 after 5000 miles is much higher...
  5. who is a tuner you trust?

I've given Derek Robinson at IMW plenty of my money. He's good for it though. Probably has tuned the most 10th gen civics out of everyone. However, if you don't want to risk blowing the engine or cvt, following 86salmon's advice and staying away from flex fuel is probably in your best interest...
  6. 2.0L AEM vs PRL intake

Do you have a number of what your LTFTs are? You wont throw a code unless you get into the extremes which is around -25% or +25% on your LTFTs, but the AEM intake could be putting you around 10% in either direction which isn't ideal. So getting actual numbers instead of just "I haven't thrown a...
  7. Low Profile Ramp Suggestions

Race Ramps are excellent. I actually have the 2 piece model that has a similar approach angle of about 10.8 degrees. However after lowering with swift springs and adding a front lip I had to buy the extension pieces which lowered the approach angle to 6.6 degrees to clear it without scraping the...
  8. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Unfortunately that is the nature of these kind of things especially as this generation is left in the past as future ones come in. About the only thing we can do now is just keep updating when we can. Also to make the information more accurate, you may need to start removing cars with low miles...
  9. Perfect Oil Change Intervals Experiment

I've actually been using 0w40 for over a year now since I'm on a built short block, w2 ball bearing turbo and have been running ethanol and am making pretty high power. 0w40 seemed to alleviate the higher than normal wear metals I was having on my oil analysis as well as the much lower...
  10. Fuel trim lean, occasional cold start misfires, no CEL

+7 also isn't terrible for fuel trims so if your your coils are the culprit they are still working "good enough". So it would be very hard to diagnose at this point. Once you start getting LTFTs in the +10s is when I would start getting a little more worried and actually start troubleshooting...
  11. Fuel trim lean, occasional cold start misfires, no CEL

My fuel trims were going fairly lean this last winter (7-10% LTFT) and replacing the spark plugs and coil packs resolved the issue completely for me. I had already done the LPFP and that helped fuel trims a little. One of my coil packs and spark plugs were pretty corroded on top where the crush...
  12. Locked out in my car

Fixed it the other day. The mechanical plastic rod from the lock cylinder wasn’t put in correctly. Just took it out, cleaned it a bit and put it back in correctly and now my car door locks and unlocks with the key.
  13. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

That looks like East Canyon. Have the roads opened yet or was that from last year? Looks like there are a few of us in the SLC area on these forums. @wallacengineering @bluerazz Maybe we should meet up and cruise East Canyon when it opens?
  14. Tires

Another point in for the DWS06+ incredible all season tire.
  15. BC Pro Rods vs Saenz S Series

No reason to go with the Saenz on our platform unless you just want to spend more money. Even The BC rods are overkill and are more than strong enough to withstand even 600+ whp.
  16. Locked out in my car

Had this happen to me recently too and I ended up having to call a locksmith to get me in. Mechanical key wouldn't work on the door (Mine is a 2018 Hatch Sport so it also uses the physical key to start the car as well). However, I think mine is mechanical and might be broken because even with...
  17. I Want to Buy Hondata, But I have a Problem

I'm wondering why your Ktuner isn't working as intended. Are you using the correct base tune? Perhaps upgrading to an off the shelf tune from Phearable or TSP would resolve your issue? Dumping $1800 on just a tuning device seems ill advised and you would be better off just reverting to stock...
  18. [SOLVED] Extremely High STFT LTFT and P0171 code

Glad you are back up and running! And fairly quickly too. At least you put the dealership to work for the 2 grand and got a new PCM out of it. Hopefully you wont have to do this again in another 60k miles :P
  19. Let's talk about the hatchback rod failures

Be careful driving with a failing turbo, once it fails completely you could have pieces of turbo go into your oil pan and get circulated throughout your engine within seconds.
  20. [SOLVED] Extremely High STFT LTFT and P0171 code

Looks like as of 2021 BP is no longer on the Top Tier list.
