I went with an Audison 10" sub, it fits into the factory enclosure. Used a small Rockford amp for power. Zero additional space taken up. Way better than stock but will not shake the car if that's what you want.
My wife thinks so, lol.
I work with car audio and hear amazing systems weekly and some of them are best experienced at a certain volume. I generally keep it around 18-20 but know if I go up to 25+, it's still clear.
The RF micro amps are amazing for their size, recommend them to anyone looking...
You're setup was what inspired me to go ahead with this.
Believe it or not, I had these equipment sitting in my garage. I work for an audio shop and from time to time, I get products for free or at a stupid low price. Since the amps were going to be hidden, I didn't feel the need to buy a...
I wanted to get rid of the center speaker but we discovered that the headunit pushes all your bluetooth/carplay/android auto sounds through that speaker. We weren't able to eliminate the center speaker and still take phone calls. I ended up just leaving it as is. I wouldn't waste a channel from...
I'm in Canada and these are legal in the province I live in. The grey area around laser jammers is, you can legally own, you're just not supposed to use them. Kind of like most aftermarket parts, "intended for off road use". There's a setting for detecting or jamming, they need to prove you were...
The sub has been upgraded by many members and it's one of the easiest ways to improve the system. You do not need a dsp for the sub.
For those looking for an economical upgrade, he's what I would suggest:
- upgrade the factory 8" sub and use the factory enclosure
- upgrade the door woofers...
I personally like my music loud and clear. On the stock system, I could hear the distortion kick in around 26. If you turn up the volume to 30, it feels like the speakers will break.
I fortunately work for a shop and would be in the same boat if I didn't. Don't want a rookie trying to figure out how to hook up an amp on my car. I would pay more for experience and piece of mind my baby will be ok.
I received the R 1.5 weeks ago and got it into the shop this week. The first major mod is the stereo system, it just sucks IMO. I'm upgrading the front speakers and subwoofers. Here's a list of the parts that went in
- Focal KX2 speakers
- SQL soundmat
- Audison 8" subwoofer
- Mosconi D2 100. DSP...
Your post prompted me to check my car as I recently got the windows tinted and didn't inspect that area. I'm happy to report I didn't suffer any damages, guess my guy wasn't an idiot. Glad to hear he's taking responsibility and fixing the damge.
I have mods and will be in Edmonton as of July. My build starts in May and will be done when I move. Have an exhaust waiting for me in Edmonton to complete my build.
I went through this a couple months ago, watched a ton of youtube sound clips, feedback from members and overall design. My car is a daily and my wife hates loud exhaust so I had to keep those factors in mind. I was set on getting the HKS legamax, had this on my EVO and loved it. Then I came...
I'm just coming for the day to pay the car, insure it, and register it. After that, I'm back on a plane home and the car goes onto a trailer to me. If I was staying, I would of loved to meet up.
My car arrived in Edmonton and I’m picking it up on Wednesday. Sadly I won’t be moving to Edmonton until July, our house got delayed. This will give me time to modify it before any meets in the summer.
