gtman I don’t drive it in winter and no stop and go driving. Rural here and always at least 10 miles per trip. leads me to believe the time factor is dominant.
My 18 si mm first time said change it at 1800. I now have 4000 mi. And it says change it again. Approximately every 2k? Wtf. No short trips. I would bet if I changed it now and didn’t drive it for 10 or 12 months it would then tell me to change it again with zero miles On the new oil.
Wife bought a 83 hatch new when we were first married. about 6k otd iirc. was impressed with the little Civic's reliability. I have seven cars now but my winter DD is a 03 Civic with 250K. Just so economical and still fun to drive with the 5 speed. Had no hesitation buying my 18 SI. Just knew it...
I agree with BugBoy. Seems perfectly natural. Don't miss the reduced space at all. And the peace of mind of having a real spare is comforting. The inflation device that the car comes with fits under the pass. seat nicely. And you still have that option if you choose it.
I certainly would have preferred a 2 door hatch. But still, I'm happy with my coupe. A low miles 95? 2 door Civic hatch came up recently on Craigslist but I passed and it sold quickly. When I later mentioned it to my wife she got mad and snapped "WHY DIDN'T YOU BUY IT"! LOL
