I'll be hopefully picking up an Si in 2-3 months and was curious to see how these little 1.5s are doing out on the streets with OTS tunes, bolt ons etc etc. What cars have you beat? Who have you got served at gapplebees by? What mods were you running in those scenarios?
I know, it's a civic...
You should be fine if you stay below 300whp and torque. The general consensus seems to be anything above that amount in the Si is when you wanna start looking into beefier internals.
I ran the car to operating temp and then ran through the gears holding each gear for about 5 seconds. I believe that is what the service manual calls for. Just do the measurement method in addition to that.
This guy wants me off civicx so badly :p
310 wheel doesn't seem like much though to be honest. That must be doable on a 10th gen si with an upgraded turbo.
Thanks for opening the rabbit hole for me lol. I'll have to crunch the numbers on this. 9th gen si + supercharger vs a 10th gen si.
How many miles would you say is too many to boost one of these K's?
I did consider this, but I don't think anyone makes the supercharger kits for the 9th gens anymore. If they do and I can for sure consider a 9th gen. Any idea how much an install would cost? I don't think I'd be comfortable installing one on my own.
If that's true, I don't understand Honda's login in putting the weaker rods in the hatchback. The hatchback sport actually has more power (Ik, only 6 more hp) compared to the other non-si 1.5t's. Idk how to explain that.
Just to chime in, the process is pretty straight forward. If you go through my post history there is a post I created where someone wrote out the step by step procedure. The only thing I had done prior to that was my rear brakes so I'm not an expert by any means. It's a very easy process, just...
The hood release is in the footwell to the left of the driver. You pull on that tab then it cracks open. Slide your hand around in the crack and you'll find a latch o fully open the hood.
The battery is super easy. There's a black and a red terminal. You need a wrench or socket wrench that is 10mm and just unscrew the BLACK/NEGATIVE terminal and put it off to the side making sure it doesn't touch any metal surface. You can wrap a rubber glove around it to be safe. Leave it for an...
You could also try unplugging the negative battery terminal for an hour or so and that might "reset" things. Otherwise, I would just take it to the dealership if you still have warranty. Maybe more experienced members can chime in.
I've had the same problem with 2017 LX as well (In Canada). If you leave it overnight it should work. The one time it totally stopped working I went to the dealership and they had to update the software. It's arguably the worst part of this car. Very laggy and slow infotainment system.
I'm trying to get an idea of how reliable these CVT's really are. I have about 75,000 miles on mine with some of them being tuned miles, although I'm flashed back to stock now. At one point, while tuned I started to notice this jerk and bucking at low speeds, under 30km/h. I'd slow down then try...
