  1. Refreshed 2020 Civic Si

The gearing change is fascinating. I’m still trying to find the sweet spot for the car where it feels really peppy and energetic. Sometimes the car feels really lively and other times it feels pretty dire. I have a feeling I’m living too low in the rev range. I know peak torque is a flat range...
  2. Refreshed 2020 Civic Si

I’ve been really surprised how useful the mirror camera is. Super useful when I’m making lane changes to exit the highway. The multi-angel rear camera does a decent job of rear-cross traffic.
  3. Refreshed 2020 Civic Si

The LED headlights and blind spot monitoring system are two things I was disappointed MY2019 didn't have when I was shopping. Now that I’ve had the car for two months I’ve not missed them nearly as much as I thought. Cool additions, but I’m not going to lose any sleep. Now if they had added...
  4. After 10 months of planning, saving and waiting my new daily is home.

I think it might actually be the VSA system. I’ve driven plenty of vehicles with LSD including front wheel drive ones. This certainly felt like an application of the brakes in line with what VSA does.

My dealer told me they would have to do an allocation swap and the whole process would take about a month and a half to two months. I used the Honda inventory page to get updates to see if it was in transit.
  6. 2019 Civic Si Sedan ABM - Short Review & Ownership Thread

Nice color choice! I’m far from an audiophile but I’m pretty happy with the factory system.
  7. Do you think turbo charging the Si was the right direction for Honda?

Owning a high revving VTEC car and this one 1.5L turbo, I know which one I would much rather have for daily usage. I love wringing a car out, but you can’t utilize the performance of a VTEC engine nearly as much as you can a turbo engine. That’s kind of the point of VTEC, you have an economic...
  8. Rear Motor Mount

Hell of a write up. I’m not even interested in a RMM, but that added value to my day.
  9. Seeing more Gen X Si's on the road this year

I’m still not seeing many. Perhaps one a week if even that.
  10. After 10 months of planning, saving and waiting my new daily is home.

Thanks! Mine came with the All-Seasons which I am fine with. I may occasionally take it to the dragon but that’s more where the S2000 comes in. As far as replacing them, I hope to get 20,000-30,000 out of them. The roads are pretty curvy where I live so we shall see. I probably wouldn’t spend...

A few more: For reference, the tint is 20%.
  12. After 10 months of planning, saving and waiting my new daily is home.

I’ve been busy over the past week: Window tint is in! I went for a nice middle of the road carbon film. All-weather floor mats Ceramic coating. I’ll be excited to see the car in the sunlight!
  13. Finally Got To Bring Her Home!!!

Congrats! Well bought btw! Those California dealers cut you a great deal!
  14. Offer has been made

As someone who sold cars, I agree. The add-ons are usually an awful value. It is a great way to build a bit of extra profit margin though.
  15. Offer has been made

That’s nearly a couple of grand below invoice. I got mine for invoice and the went over book on my trade, I was very happy about that considering there wasn’t another blue one within 200 miles.

Bonus points for matching blues! Just when I talked myself out of lusting after a LBP S2000 you post that!
  17. After 10 months of planning, saving and waiting my new daily is home.

Some notes: - This car feels extremely planted and weighted. It is still very maneuverable however. It feels more European than Japanese. - The car is quite large. I went out with some coworkers to lunch and we all were much more comfortable than in my 2016 Mazda 3. It makes the S2000 feel...

The all seasons. More than enough grip for my needs.
  19. For Si Owners Only: Si vs. Type R --- Would You Give Up Your Si, if Type R was Available for MSRP?

Nope. I need a sporty daily driver not a full out sports car. The S2000 fills the role perfectly. Also, I can’t justify a $35000 car at this point in my life.

Fantastic! I will jot this down for when I head to the dragon. Thanks!
