26k miles
But vast majority of those were before pandemic. I put on maybe 4-6k miles since a year ago - and my job is now fully remote forever so I expect that to be my yearly average going forward.
Nah. However I live right on the edge of suburbia, bordering into rural zones where there are so many fun routes to drive. My state is hilly and the roads are windy - perfect for the Type R even when you aren't pushing 100%.
If I lived in a state where roads are more straight, everything is...
After 2.5 years of owning one, I feel like I got more than $33k worth of car for sure. It's a lot of fun - getting to a higher level of fun will no doubt have me looking at cars that start in the 40's. You have to accept this car for what it is and what it isn't - and it isn't a drag racer. More...
Michelin Pilot 4s. Been in my garage all winter. It's only been under 19 once so far where I'm at and I'm pretty sure my garage is slightly warmer.
What are those lines? They are straight and go down in between the tread at regular intervals. I see these in other pictures of the same tires...
Just to put a final update here - I got my car back a few weeks ago and no new issues. I suppose I'll chalk up that one difficult start to a fluke as they ran a bunch of tests. Certainly my PTSD from the prior episode contributed to me getting this car towed.
Thanks. That gives me some peace of mind. I just never had that happen to me in a newish car so it threw me for a loop. But if the occasional glitch happens, I can live with it. As long as there are no underlying issues.
They looked at the fuel pump and fuel tank area and everything checked out. He doesn't smell fuel, but I will double check that when I get my car back. They are about to run more function tests to make sure. He said the fuel smell may have been due to a temporary influx of fuel. He says if the...
Same thing may have happened to me. My car is at the dealership now and, from what I remember him saying, there is supposed to be a dry dummy hose somewhere on the fuel tank and if it isn't there than something can leak into the fuel tank requiring it to be replaced. I suppose that's what the...
So they ran diagnostics and everything looks fine and the guy said he couldn't smell fuel, however he wants to get in touch with the other dealership to understand what code they ran (not sure what he meant). He suspects that they didn't put on a dummy hose somewhere on the fuel pump and in that...
Nah. I've had it for almost 2 years. So SOL on that front. It's at the dealership now (a different one) and I told them the history. Hopefully they can fix it and give me some peace of mind.
Not give up persay. But get a refund and grab myself a 2020. But, moot point as PA lemon law requirements are really stringent. I know it's a simple problem but it's actually a really big problem as I have no way of telling if my car will remain reliable.
I have a 2018 Type R, got the recall for the fuel pump back in June.
Had it done mid July. A few days after, it died in the middle of an intersection and I used the emergency towing to take it to the same dealership that did the recall. They said they didn't secure the fuel pump correctly...
