  1. Dash Cam.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SRQH4R7/ - $99, good sensor, good reviews (outside of Amazon). Also have the hardwire kit. If I need something I just pop the SD card out. I previously tried a Vantrue S1 front/rear but it was garbage.
  2. Deer totaled my Si, Progressive Ins. is low balling

Fight it. They're trained to lowball. I've dealt with that in the past with other insurers. I won't crap on Progressive too much though as when I totaled my brand new motorcycle a few years back they made me whole in less than a week (covered full replacement cost of the bike including what I...
  3. I bought a flooded 2018 Civic Si

3 years 36,000 miles for $5k... $22k for the car total. That dealer likely bought the car at auction or copart for a mint and made pure profit on it. They didn't even need to clean it or detail it for you. I had a 2018 Si, great car, but the flood damage is a ticking time bomb. Not sure what...
  4. Whats your highest mileage on Type r?

2019, about 45k miles. So far oil changes, tires, rear pads/rotors/calipers/actuators. So far so good otherwise. Front brakes are due soon, less for me to break on those I hope. :)
  5. Cushion for the passenger seat to elevate the passenger (and make getting in/out easier)?

Hi everyone, odd request here. My mom is in town for a bit and it's difficult for her to get in/out of the CTR due to the seat bolster. I'm thinking I could get some sort of seat cushion that'd fit the passenger seat and elevate her so she doesn't have to deal with climbing over the bolster...
  6. Add me to the list of folks cursing at the parking brake...

No confirmation on the shaft being broken, they started with actuators which didn't make a difference, once the calipers were swapped everything worked.
  7. Add me to the list of folks cursing at the parking brake...

After new calipers and actuators, car is mobile again.... won't make the same mistake twice. Thanks for the insight and guidance, all.
  8. Add me to the list of folks cursing at the parking brake...

I genuinely appreciate the education here, it's gonna cost me a few bucks to have it fixed but next time I'll be wiser.... Cuss far less too. :). Thank you!
  9. Add me to the list of folks cursing at the parking brake...

Only thing I think I may have screwed up, on compressing the pistons, they compressed easily like I'd seen on the many videos on the task however I may have slightly turned them clockwise BEFORE compressing. Maybe that hosed it. Either way, flatbed will be here soon and it's off to a mechanic...
  10. Add me to the list of folks cursing at the parking brake...

That's exactly how I did it, everything worked fine last night when the job was done, took the car for a drive, tested the parking brake, everything worked fine until today.

That's pretty messed up then, 40k miles on the car, activating maintenance mode was enough to snap that shaft? Both calipers are kicking back the error. I was able to turn the shaft one way to lock and it locked the brakes up, turning in the opposite direction freed it up. I'd think if the...
  12. Add me to the list of folks cursing at the parking brake...

Slight update, now I've gotten the short to ground for the left rear as well, and now it only says actuator open on left rear. I've checked both harnesses, they appear OK. When I try to turn off the parking brake, I hear the actuator start, but I get an audible "squeak" from the passenger...
  13. Add me to the list of folks cursing at the parking brake...

Changed the rear pads and rotors on my 2019 CTR last night. Used the Autel to put in maintenance mode, ran through all the steps necessary to swap the pads/rotors. Took it out of maintenance mode, flipped the e-brake back and forth a few times to test, bolted the wheels on and took it out. On...
  14. Spare Tire for Type R

Had to trim 2.5" off the board but it looks good now, fits perfectly.
  15. Spare Tire for Type R

Same process on the Civic Si IIRC, I had a 2018 before I got this.
  16. Spare Tire for Type R

Same kit, albeit the updated P/N: 06421-TGH-A03ZA: Guessing since the car is out of production the board piece is meant to cover all hatchbacks. Nothing a Dremel can't fix. Figure I'll just cut the bit off up to the foam brick, should be grand. Got the tire today so I'll have it mounted...
  17. Spare Tire for Type R

Got mine today, still need to get the tire for the wheel, only thing I found is the right flap of the board doesn't exactly fit. Guessing it's for cars without the "subwoofer" in the trunk? I'll look again later to see if I need to trim it or just cut it off.
  18. What this dealer wanted for an FL5!

I managed to get my FK8 at MSRP, 2019 model in early 2020... I've seen a few of the new model at MSRP as well, but TBH I like mine so much I genuinely have no desire to upgrade at this point. Despite the obvious reason (greed) I wonder if they mark them up so high as it puts some eye candy on...
  19. Colorado Trip - Type R -

I've made several round trips in my CTR between NY and GA (13 hour straight shot). I'm consistently amazed at the comfort of this car on long trips. MPG is 34/35 on average. My only bad experience was getting stuck on I-85N last week for 5 hours in traffic that was only moving at 1-2mph. Car...
