Go for it, I think that looks good. Black roof makes the car look lower and sportier. For blacking out the trim and front grille bar definitely go gloss (not flat) black. Maybe even a black chrome if they have that type of finish.
Probably not needed on the Civic unless you're making it at pure track car. And even then, fitting brakes from the Si or Type R might be cheaper and keep things all OEM.
Hah you're wasting no time modifying I love it. Agreed these 18's look the same size as the stock 17" wheels. 19's would definitely fit the size of the car and the side of the wheel wells better. And why is the suspension gap look so big - are the springs not settled yet from being jacked up...
Have you seen this thread? Looks like H8 35w bulbs for the foglights.

OP probably picked this bluish bulb color on purpose for the look. I like it better than the yellow factory halogen bulbs.
These headlight bulbs look like 8000k or 10000k temperature (?).
Each of the stock wheels are too busy for me. I prefer simpler single-colored wheel styles. The designs seem to be pretty busy and are very 'filled in' so there's a lot of material. Might mean the wheels are heavy. Some of the other owners are starting to weigh the stock wheels so we should...
Me too, LX manual coupe. That's an enthusiast's build.
Without spoiler shows off the rear end's lines even more, which is the best looking part of the coupe. It's a good thing the spoiler didn't come standard or you'd have holes remaining if you removed it to get this clean look.
And this is with the all season factory tires, which lights up traction control on 0-60 acceleration runs in the videos posted.
Get some more performance geared tires on and the 0-60 might drop another tenth or two.
Yup, the 2016 Civic's ride height and wheel position is great. Doesn't ride too high from the factory and not too much wheel tuck.
Great looking car out of the box.
Nice. Please take photos before, during, and after install. I like the deck lid spoiler better than the factory spoiler lip and the higher wing spoiler.
Too bad we only have one pic of it so far...
That's exactly what I was thinking. My guess is the Si comes out as a 2017 MY and it'll be good timing as the manual for the 1.5L will be offered by then.
What's your backup car? After seeing the coupe and figuring the Si will look even better borrowing some styling from the concept, I think I...
Even if the design wasn't considered too aggressive, it might have been too impractical. It hangs much lower than the one on the prototype and may scrape too much to be on a daily everyday car like the Civic is.
I don't think the Si will really cannibalize Type R sales no matter what engine it gets... because Honda won't allow it to step on the toes in terms of power, at least straight from the factory. What its owners are able to do in the aftermarket to catch the engine up to the CTR is another...
But a stripped down lighter version like the upcoming m4 GTS costs even more.
That's why the CTR really is a bargain when you consider the cars that it can compete with on the track.
