  1. What's that sound?

Yes, yes it could. If it comes back have it checked out though as a good number of 10th gen Civics have had issues with the front half shafts tearing the CV boot and spewing filth about.
  2. Tpms

No, the system is indirect so it reads variations in wheel speed via individual wheel speed sensors. When one wheel turns slower or faster than others, it turns on the light. If you want individual pressures, you need a direct system and you can find them online at amazon for 40 bucks or so...
  3. Still buying an Si but...

Man, I always wanted one of those cars, congrats! Keep us posted on the build, cam specs, heads, all that good stuff. I built a 5.0 last spring with AFR 185 heads, a huge Comp cam, 1.7 roller rockers, all the goodies. Most fun I’ve ever had working on a car. This should easily slay it. Have fun!
  4. To those wondering when to shift gears

Man, those seem odd. I usually grab 2nd around 12-15, 3rd around 23, 4th around 30-33, 5th at 40-45 and 6th not until 55-60. The car just doesn’t seem to have enough torque below 2k to make 6th at 40 feasible, especially not if you’re climbing any grade whatsoever. Downhill, sure, but climbing...
  5. Performance after the Fuel Dilution fix

Good point, I didn’t even think about that. It just seemed like such a dramatic shift that I’ve been grasping at straws to explain it, trying to piece together a bigger picture than is, perhaps, actually there. Thanks!
  6. Performance after the Fuel Dilution fix

That’s what I thought as well but since Derek was here and knows these cars inside and out I figured I’d ask. Thanks!
  7. Performance after the Fuel Dilution fix

Are there any changes which would negatively impact fuel economy? We’ve had the polar vortex all last week and I’m pretty sure my poor economy is due to that but I’ve gone from getting 34-36 down to 30-32 since the TSBs was done. Just the miserable cold, right?
  8. Scotty Kilmer on oil dilution

Not sure any man on Earth has consumed more cocaine than that guy right there...
  9. Sound like knock?

Try taking it to an auto parts store, most will check for codes for free and then you can just google the code.
  10. Anyone here a pc/Xbox gamer?

I think he was trying to say there’s an off topic subforum and this might be better suited to that sub forum. But there are plenty of gamers here, I don’t play much Xbox these days but when I do it’s Forza Horizon 4. Playing a lot of Switch with my kids since I got one last month.
  11. 3-2 Downshift Rev Match Issue

I’ve noticed I don’t always get what I expect when I blip the throttle, yeah. But it’s consistent in mine and I’ve gotten used to it. That’s not to say all my downshifts are as smooth as I’d like but I’ve just gotten used to how much gas I need, roughly, to get the engine where I want it.
  12. Crazy difference in MPG in different weather (1.5 turbo)

Are you spending a lot of time warming up the car? Ensuring proper tire inflation? I’ve seen my mileage drop from 38-42 down to 33-36. I’ve got 11 miles on the highway each way and the rest is high speed backroads with little stopping.
  13. Had oil dilution recall work done today

Anybody hear the Bears lost that game on a blocked kick instead of a missed field goal? No? Yeah, me neither. Yay Honda!
  14. why did you buy a civic?

My wife got a new job where she would drive a ton more, like 25k a year, and her 6 cylinder Outback got maybe 21mpg so it needed to go. I wanted something sporty with a manual transmission and the only choices were Ford, Subaru, VW or this. As a Honda enthusiast it was the natural choice but I...
  15. Seat heaters

I agree, not a huge difference between 2 and 3 but I feel like there is one. Small but noticeable in my car. I usually start at 3 then when it gets uncomfortable, which never takes long, I drop it to 2 for a minute then to 1 and usually don’t turn it off. 1 is a nice temp, just enough to keep...
  16. Mishimoto update....something good for once lol

Nice to see they’re listening to feedback and responding, thanks for the write up!
  17. PSA: Please secure cargo when in an open-bed truck

You’re welcome! Can’t stand seeing that kind of behavior from what is supposed to be a community of enthusiasts who share a passion for these cars, it’s disgraceful. Hopefully the next part goes smoothly for you. My whole front fascia has always been misaligned, even after a body shop...
  18. PSA: Please secure cargo when in an open-bed truck

Jesus, who cares what forum it’s in, can’t we just feel bad for the guy because his car got damaged and stop dumping on him for having the audacity to write it here? Who gives a shit, he has an Si, it got damaged, he’s unhappy, he wants to share. Let the man feel like people care as opposed to...
  19. Winter tires.

I got my wheels and tires through tire rack. Not steelies, they’re sport tuning st4’s or something like that. They look almost identical to the stock wheels which I’m sure most people will say is lame but I honestly like my cars to look stock so no one thinks there’s anything of value in them...
  20. Winter tires.

I’ve got a set of Blizzak WS-80’s on 17” wheels I’ve had on for a month. Louder than stock but the grip in snow is excellent, ride is improved and there’s been a very minimal impact to fuel economy. They’re very livable on non-snowy days, I recommend them.
