Some dealers also soften their stance when you show up with a sheet showing the invoice pricing, so you show that you know how much profit they're making.
With how much Honda was touting how much quieter and insulated the new Civic is on the inside, I woulda been surprised you can hear the exhaust much from the interior.
Sunny786: are you asking how the exhaust sounds from the inside or from the outside?
Didn't notice that the 2016 coupe suspension sits lower until seeing this. Makes it look much sportier but it'll also perform better from lower center of gravity.
The Camaro lineup isn't filled out yet either though. The convertible, ZL1 and Z/28 are still to come. But I agree the Civic would have had a better chance if the coupe, hatchback, Si and Type R were all available. Maybe next year the Si will have a chance again.
Then the Accord and Civic would be even closer in size and completely overlap, even more than now. That would hurt Accord sales even more. Need more differentiation between the models to sell more of both cars overall.
1,000 a day is a staggering amount of output. And that's just out of one plant. There's the Indiana plant making Civics too.
I don't now if I'd call the Accord a 'flagship' car? It's bigger, more stately, and more expensive than the Civic but with this Civic X model the Accord isn't much more...
Hatchbacks seem to be much more popular than before in N American now. I think the premium brands going to fastback designs for their sedans probably helped anything with a hatch shed the econocrapbox image here. So maybe hatchbacks are now compelling enough for Honda to consider an Si model...
Reduced noise from NVH is a good thing but I've sat in a few cars lately that are just too quiet even if the stock exhaust sounds good. My friend bought a new ecoboost mustang that suffers from that problem. It feels like you're driving 40mph when you're doing 80. It's good and bad. It's great...
"Driving refinement and quietness unprecedented in a compact car"
Lots of nice stats on the new car but does that line scare anyone? That could take away from being a true return to 'sporty' that Honda promised. :hmm:
