  1. 1 thing you hate about your 10th gen civic?

Exactly! I was looking for a way to describe it. Young or old, all of our backs are different. And if you are young and don't notice it now, you will when you are older. :) It wouldn't need to be an expensive add. I'm not asking for a 1000 way adjustable seat. Maybe a simple manual lever...
  2. 1 thing you hate about your 10th gen civic?

I considered the question in relation to my expectations when I purchased the Civic. Example: Did I buy a Honda, or an Acura or Lexus? So, after 10,000 miles, including a 3000 mile + road trip, here is my No. 1 gripe... No lumbar support. That is my biggest gripe. Info unit has issues, it's...
  3. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

I've been following this thread for months. I haven't done squat to my 2018 Touring sedan other than enjoy 9000 trouble free and pleasurable miles. That includes a 4000+ mile trip from Phoenix to Chicago and back, last year summer. I really enjoy the enthusiasm on this thread. I may never do...
  4. Where in the world are 1.5 Turbo engines made?

My US '18 Touring assembled in Japan, along with the engine and transmission.
  5. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

I bought it, a long time ago, at likely an Office Depot, or store like that. It is really for an office chair. I cut the tag off of it, so don't even know the manufacturer. It didn't fit well as is. Too thick and didn't fit the contours of the Civic backrest. Pushed my upper back/shoulders...
  6. What did you do to your Civic today? (II)

Today, I solved my number one complaint with my '18 Touring. I bought a reasonably priced lumbar support for a desk chair. Pulled the foam out of the cover, and I took an electric carving knife to custom trim it for the Civic drivers seat. Hallelujah!! It worked. My back will no longer...
  7. Learning to drive manual

Some great advice offered, but some are over-working it. Learning to drive a manual transmission is not rocket science. I'm proof! :) I never drove a manual tranny until my folks approved me buying a 1959 Triumph TR3. Took a few hours with Dad, in a K Mart parking lot, and I was ready to...
  8. One Design Flaw I Found.. (EX and up)

50's in January is a really cold day. 60's more the norm. Spring comes in mid-February. December mid 60's t0 low 70's. Fall and Spring, glorious. June/July/August? Keep a place in Kentucky!! Gets a little toasty :) Back to the OP's original post and few responses back from mine...
  9. I think I’ve found a way to disable rain sensing wipers

I haven't had the issues with the rain sensing wipers many of you have encouraging me to disable. However, I live in Arizona, where rain is a fairly rare event. On a 3500 mile trip to the mid-west, I did notice it doesn't work as well as my Jeep GC, with a Mercedes developed system. A few...
  10. iPod music skips and I have to re-plug USB every startup

OP, not much help to you, but I'm with Axatax. '18 Touring and three year old iPod. Used the iPod a lot on a 3500 mile summer trip. Worked great. I will admit it initially takes a minute for the Civic to recognize the iPod, but that only happens if I've unplugged the device, and reconnect...
  11. My pretty Pearl It’s all pretty again and clean & waxed. Zoom Zoom, until the rain commeth again.

First, OP. Love your car. You have excellent taste. I have one just like it! Can't speak to OK and that black film, but in Arizona, white is the best color to avoid frequent washings. I have a torch red Vette and a grey Jeep. Wash 'em, and a day later you can see the dust. Civic looks...
  12. Do you drive with your fogs?

I don't use them unless I need them. Applies to every car I've owned that had them. They can be very annoying to oncoming traffic in normal situations.
  13. 2019 Civic WITH Volume Knob!!!

I'm with you! I've already stated I'm fine with the steering wheel control. I rarely use the volume control knobs on my Jeep and Corvette head units. Jeep has up/down on the back side of the steering wheel, and Corvette two small easily reached tabs on the steering wheel. I don't even...
  14. 2019 Civic WITH Volume Knob!!!

I agree with you. Just wrapped up my first 3500 mile road trip. I registered a complaint in another thread, months ago, but have changed my mind. The steering wheel control is fine. As the driver, I'm the one more interested in listening to something than my passenger. She's reading...
  15. I think I’ve found a way to disable rain sensing wipers

I didn't even know my Touring had the feature until a recent long road trip. I must have had the stalk set to Auto, because a few drops of rain hit, and the wipers came on. After reading the manual, I find it complicated and inefficient. My '15, '11 and '05 Jeeps have/had rain sensing, and it...
  16. Road Trip Review - First Civic

Relatively new here. Bought my '18 Touring in April. My first Civic. Owned a first gen Integra back in the '80's, total sum of my Honda experience. Took the Civic on it's first long road trip. With only 2100 miles on the odometer, added 3570.6 miles from AZ to MO, IL, IA, KS, CO and back...
  17. Not even 2 years....

Looks like every air-bag in the car went off. Glad to hear the most important thing, you are okay. I'm guessing you have some bruises, but great if nothing more. Also hope the claims and replacement process work smoothly for you.
  18. 2018 Civic Hatchback AC

Would love to see your factual data to support your comment. My empirical data says otherwise. Had a '97 Corvette with the tinted transparent top. Unbearable in AZ until I added a sun shade. Had a '13 MINI with the dual sunroofs. Flimsy sun shade that didn't do much. Added a total...
  19. CVT or Manual, Change my mind

Rational response to this ongoing debate. We all have our particular driving environments, etc. No wrong decisions regarding transmissions. What ever fits your life style. Civic still a fantastic car.
  20. car accident question.

Unless something more severe like flood damage, I don't think a car dealer gives a crap about previous accidents. They aren't buying it to keep. 90% of their used car buyers don't even know what Carfax is. I had a $2000 repair, to a Corvette, through insurance, and $1800 on a Jeep. When I...
