  1. Refreshed 2020 Civic Si

Couple of quick thoughts/questions on the 2020 Si Will the modified "shorter" final drive ratio reduce the torque? Consequently, how would those changes affect the performance/longevity of the clutch? Assuming this is similar to other models, the Honda Sensing shouldn't prevent the car from...
  2. OFFICIAL Drag-strip 1/4 Mile Time Thread (Gen X Si Only)

Still on Ktuner 21.5 and stock tires. Pedal dance for no VSA. [email protected]
  3. What is an accurate 1/4 mile time for this car stock?

Yes, I found that disabling the VSA using the pedal dance significantly improved the 60' times. Still on the crappy all season stock tires (30k+ miles) but they get a little more grip now that they are getting bald!
  4. What is an accurate 1/4 mile time for this car stock?

Apologies for the tunes on that dashcam video, probably best to keep the music to a minimum but it helps my reaction time for some dumb reason. Loud music equals < .500. Stock I routinely saw 14.9-15.2. With only VSA disabled, times were much more around 14.6-14.8. Running Ktuner 21.5 I...
  5. those running TSP tune need your help!

Definitely a lot of variables between the two times, but most notably the factory all season tires. On the TSP tune the tires spin badly in second. If you're not on a track, have decent tires, or are rolling, the difference is actually noticable. Especially once in a gear like 3rd or 4th...
  6. those running TSP tune need your help!

[email protected] VSA disabled with pedal dance.
  7. OFFICIAL Drag-strip 1/4 Mile Time Thread (Gen X Si Only)

Slot 1 - Factory tune Slot 2 - KTuner basemap 19.5/21.5 standard responsiveness Slot 3 - KTuner basemap 19.5.21.5 improved responsiveness I Rev-hang delete was enabled on the tune itself (cruise off), and it typically just makes shifting hard when it's there. I'm not sure the effect on the...
  8. OFFICIAL Drag-strip 1/4 Mile Time Thread (Gen X Si Only)

[email protected]. Ktuner was only set for rev-hang delete with the factory turbo maps, since the Ktuner basemaps wouldn't hold any traction with my tired tires. VSA manually disabled. Stock everything else.
  9. 10th Gen Civic 1/4 Mile Times

Probably the last time at the track this year...the rainy season is starting. Got spanked by the drag cars, but was able to compare the 21.5psi and 23psi KTuner base configurations. The track conditions weren't great which resulted in somewhat slower times all around. VSA off, sport mode on...
  10. 10th Gen Civic 1/4 Mile Times

The itch happened again Friday night...but only had time for 3 runs. Weather was cool but humid (64 degrees), launching @3200rpms with 21.5psi tune. First run was with VSA on and a noticeably throttled the acceleration. Second two runs were with VSA disabled, and sport mode on which resulted...
  11. Drag strip helmets

This isn't real specific with brands/types, but here are the technical rules for PIR (Portland International Raceway) the types of helmets and safety gear required depending on trap time/speed.
  12. Pulsating/shaking during very hard braking

Brake fade and warped rotors are often associated with repeated heavy (high speed) braking. Emergency braking could be the antilock brakes activating, which you'll feel at the pedal. However, if you have Honda Sensing, it could also be some of the braking control system trying to mitigate the...
  13. OFFICIAL Drag-strip 1/4 Mile Time Thread (Gen X Si Only)

Back at the track again, and at the very least---it's time for new tires! Played with a few tunes last night. Here's the 21.5psi Si KTuner basemap (on-the-fly configuration 3), sport mode on, VSA manually disabled, and launch control was set at 3150rpm. I got some unexpected wheel spin...
  14. Which stage 1 tune?

Didn't take advantage of no-lift-shifts, and it was a hot day at the track, but here's the slip. [email protected]
  15. Drag strip advice

Here's a run with the 19.5/21.5 KTuner basemap: ...and one with TSP Stage 1 (launch control set @3000) Tips: 1) Use the pedal dance to disable traction control if you want a little more bite from 2nd gear 2) Ask about the timing for the tree (PIR you're supposed to leave on the last yellow...
  16. Instrument cluster lights after crash

Just a guess, but is it the EDR? The Event Data Recorder is like a blackbox in an airplane and records critical ECU information before the airbags are deployed. It would be conceivable that a major accident would "lock" these values in the ECU to be retrieved by accident investigators. They...
  17. KTuner not flashing...Need help

Couple of things... 1) make sure your laptop is plugged in to A/C 2) check your USB cord, always try a high quality shorter length cable 3) try flashing the ktuner into a memory slot, then use tunerview lite on an Android device to flash it Using the ktuner as a "pass through" device could...
  18. TSP Stage 1 Tune for the 2017+ Civic Si (Cobra Race Support Included!)

You're correct...I'm now running the TSP Stage 1 Tune via KTuner V1.2. The car is completely stock except for the little ECU backpack tucked into my ODB port. The best time I got Saturday was [email protected], however it was a very hot evening in Portland (it's been over 90 the past 2 weeks) and I...
  19. OFFICIAL Drag-strip 1/4 Mile Time Thread (Gen X Si Only)

Since every track is different, perhaps a little background is helpful: The quarter mile at PIR is just a subsection of the entire racetrack, you have to brake fairly quickly and take a hard left before looping back to the starting line. 4th has plenty left when I cross the 1/4 mile timing...
  20. OFFICIAL Drag-strip 1/4 Mile Time Thread (Gen X Si Only)

I shift into 5th after the end line...so it's all about getting a few extra mph after I've geared out 4th and before I slow down. I'd like to cool off the engine with a little air using 5th (a la direct injection), so figured it was the next logical choice of gears. The shift miss isn't...
