This is a problem that Honda has known about since the first Civic X cars were released into the frozen north. I had mine replaced under a TSB from Honda Canada (my local dealer in MA honored it).
It came right back after the "fix" and I don't even think about it any more. It's a dampening...
My mechanic, who used to be the Lead Mechanic at the dealer where I bought my Si, said he prefers to replace the rear brakes with Zinc Plated slotted and drilled rotors because the pads wear more evenly, the fronts don't seem to have that problem since they are probably doing the yeoman's duty...
Congratulations! You bought a "Good One"!
I owned a 1996 Acura Integra that I bought brand new for just over $17,000 and I drove it for 260,000 miles before the timing belt slipped and it was time to bid it adieu (I had replaced it every 90K miles but it got towed in gear for a short distance)...
I finally had my mechanic install an Acuity Shift Linkage Bushing while he was upgrading my brakes.
I must say that this was such a great addition to the car that even my mechanic, who was the the head mechanic at a Honda Dealer in my area, said that it shifted better than any other Civic that...
Welcome back to "The Stick".
This is the Torque Curve of your engine ~ This is all you need to know ~ other than the gear ratios of your transmission which are:
1st: 2.64
2nd 2.08
3rd 1.36
4th 1.02
5th. .083
6th. .069
Rev. 3.67
All the gears over 4th are considered "Over-Drive", and you are...
I ended up with PowerStop K7934 drilled and slotted rotors, and Z23 carbon-fiber ceramic brake pads, for the rears. My mechanic highly recommended these as replacements for the OEM rear rotors and pads which seem to prematurely rust, and to wear really unevenly (there was a TSB on this for...
I haven't had any problems with my Front rotors rusting unless they have been sitting for long periods of time and, even then, a few quick stops cleans them up nicely... My Rear Brake Rotors, on the other hand, seem to rust out starting about half way up the disc and they never get clean, no...
I had this happen at about 17K and it was due to rodents chewing through the wiring harness in several places right near the spark plugs. Honda replaced the entire harness which my insurance paid for. This is a fairly common occurance.
I have owned two 20+ year old Hondas (an Acura Integra and a Civic) and they both started to fall apart. The Acura just rusted away [Brake Lines rusted out and suddenly let go the a commute home... WEEEEEEE!) but it later got towed while in gear which made the timing belt jump a few teeth and...
It was two connectors, but as the bill shows, there is a VERY good reason to replace the whole harness: $1,550 in Labor!
My Comprehensive Insurance will take care of all but $500 of it, but that still sucks!
I just had to have my car towed to the dealer because upon starting this morning, it ran really rough and threw every warning light on the Dash in succession. Turned it off, called Honda and they said to have it towed in to the shop and this is what they found. They say they have to replace the...
There is a "middle ground" and that is "Flow Formed" wheels which can be much less expensive, yet are lighter and stronger than Low-Pressure or Gravity cast wheels. The Work Emotion Kiwami wheels mentioned by the OP are are made using the "Work FlowForming Technology" or WFT.
A set of 18" Konig...
