  3. Thoughts and reviews on CVT vs Manual

OK fine you have your manual tran but why not give others like myself the option of either ?
  4. Thoughts and reviews on CVT vs Manual

Very happy with my CVT in my little Civic Sports Hatch but when is Honda gonna give me the option of a Type R with the CVT because I've owned sticks for years but am now too lazy, too old, an too affluent to drive a car without an auto trans but I want a Civic with 300 horses ?
  5. 2018 Civic Hatchback

For A/C "issues" with a 2018 Hatch check out my thread from a short time ago: https://www.civicx.com/threads/2018-civic-sport-hatch-has-major-system-failure-a-c-fails-only-6-600-miles.36764/
  6. 2018 Civic Sport Hatch has major system failure: A/C fails @only 6,600. miles !

So much for Honda's rep as a well made and reliable auto manufacturer ! When I bought this car, Dec of 2017, I traded a 17 year old Mazda pickup which required nothing more than a couple battery replacements & a couple new set of tires over the 17 years I'd owned it. Iv'e had this car 17 months...
  7. Civic Type R US Sales Numbers (to date)

I don't get it ? Why would you even care if the manufacturer builds a variation of the product just to suit my demands as a consumer ? It's just the same vehicle with more options or in more variations. Please don't tell me you have some notion that the purity of the product is somehow diluted...
  8. Civic Type R US Sales Numbers (to date)

Last time I checked Honda was a Japanese-based multinational company, you should know that Big Will, so if need be they can relocate to another country right ? Yea my Civic hatchback was assembled in Britain so assuming demand for these products continue they can be assembled in another country.
  9. Flashing the ECU while a Maintenance Minder light is on?

When I purchased this vehicle in Dec., 2017 the documentation they gave me included a "service maintenance Booklet" and the first milestone for service explicitly says 7,500 miles, but you are saying this is no longer relevant, right ? OK well anyway appreciate your response and help, thank you...
  10. Flashing the ECU while a Maintenance Minder light is on?

I'm getting the MM, the little yellow-colored wrench icon light on my dash, but I only have 'bout 5,800 miles while my owners manual indicated the first service is not called for until I hit 7,500 miles ? So I dunno should I schedule service now or wait 'till 7,500 ?
  11. Civic Type R US Sales Numbers (to date)

I have an auto in a car that I like very much but want more punch than 180 HP in my Civic. Plenty of Honda's competitors offer that combo (that is an auto tranny with sustantially more horses which approximate or even exceed 250 HP), so what's keeping Honda from matching the competition ?
  12. Civic Type R US Sales Numbers (to date)

I want a type R with an auto tranny, how long do I have to wait for that configuration in the Honda type "R" ? Love sticks, owned & drove them for 30 years but now very happy with an auto, don't need or want a clutch anymore but do love my little Civic hatchback just want 300 horses under the hood.
  13. Civic Type R US Sales Numbers (to date)

I know little about the automobile business but I did think that most dealers wanted to turn over their inventory as rapidly as possible to realize profits and then replace said inventory with new inventory which in turn could be sold quickly for more profits. I mean if cars just set there the...
  14. Houston

Hey man surely you must realize that Honda is a multi-billion dollar company and any cost/expenses measured in millions are immaterial or practrically petty cash to them. Lexus, BMW,Jaguar,Infinity, etc. all have smaller cars like the Civic which feature large engines with automatic...
  15. Hatchback - What did you pay?

I got it at the Clear Lake Honda dealership in Houston.
  16. Hatchback - What did you pay?

Total OTD which would included the following:taxes, title, misc fees, & destination charges = $23.200. In addition I traded a 17 year old (Y2K) Mazda stick pickup, rear wheel drive which was in average condition with relatively low mileage of 70K. So I would think the trade-in value at about...
  17. Why'd You Pick Civic X ?

That's silly ! Toyota is the overpriced brand with its comparables like Honda, Mazda, Nissan, etc.
  18. Houston

I'm not saying Honda should replace manuals but rather offer both options of the stick and automatic tranny to customers.
  19. Houston

I presume that the Honda company is an astute corporation that responds to the needs & wishs of its customers and potential customers so I suspect they might offer that option in the future if the demand for such a product is present? I've owned quite a few sticks in the past, both cars &...
  20. Why'd You Pick Civic X ?

In terms of pure value it's very difficult to beat.
