  1. Girodisc Rotors long term review

I used them in my S2000 and didn't like them at all. There are better pads out there as mentioned in this discussion. I do love their brake fluid tho.
  2. Girodisc Rotors long term review

I doubt that anyone here will manage to warp a Girodisc. On the other hand, every single CTR I see has grooved rotors.
  3. Girodisc Rotors long term review

It is true that the OEM rotors are crap. We did a CTR wrench day at a buddy's place and every single CTR had grooved rotors, none of them tracked. So I would say the OEMs need to be replaced even before the pads. I've never seen anything so bad like that. I bet if you buy a Girodisc you'll...

He's completely wrong. Rotors go by minimum thickness, just like pads. You'll probably go through 10 sets of pads before you need to replace rotors.
  5. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

I realized I never posted about this track day, but it summarizes how capable the CTR is. Look how the CTR stacks up against some supercars, only behind a Radical and a track built M3 with a V8 swap...
  6. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

Hey. I don't have the gold tape anywhere. I just moved to TX so I need to revamp my cooling system. I added the hood vents and will add some thermal tape/wrap on the oil pan and downpipe. I'm also installing a turbo blanket. However, I'm not expecting to solve the issue, just mitigate a bit...
  7. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

I don't reccomend W6. I needs too much heat to start biting and it's horrible before it gets to temp. People that run W6 usually ride on the brakes on the opening lap to build heat, but the CTR does not allow you to run on the brakes 9it cuts throttle). All others are great, ST43 still being my...

    Way to go my friend
  9. Girodisc Rotors long term review

I've tried "cheaper" options before until I went with Girodisc and never looked back. Not saying you shouldn't try tho;)
  10. Girodisc Rotors long term review

Haha...nice. That's what happens when you try to keep up with German cars in a Civic:-) Miss you guys too;-)
  11. Girodisc Rotors long term review

Stock rotors and Winmax W3. All of the items you mentioned. I've used Winmax W6 and didn't like it because it takes too much heat to start biting. The W5 is similar to the ST43, but ST43 is more consistent, very easy on rotors and last forever, yet provides very good bite and stopping power...
  12. Girodisc Rotors long term review

Thank you. I definitely do. I haven't been too active in the forum but I'm coming back
  13. Girodisc Rotors long term review

I've mentioned before I'm a big fan of these Girodisc rotors, so I decided to post my experience after running them in 3 different cars (Evo X, CTR and Corvette C6). I had to replace my OEM front rotors on the CTR after only 2 track days as they warped and created grooves. I am now replacing the...
  14. Civic Type R at the track, goods and bads! Let's share our experience.

My thought process is very simple. The manufacturer designed the engine for specific operating conditions/loads, selected an oil spec for those and tested the engine according to their test plan with that specific oil. Assuming that Honda had track duty in mind for the CTR, they chose an oil...

There is a tow point on the sub-frame up front and the car comes with one that you can thread on the rear, underneath a plastic cover on the bumper.

The Eibach RSB is a good addition. Set it to soft and get used to it. I really liked how my car handled with just the RSB. In fact that's my setup on the video mentioned in the article above. Stock suspension with RSB, 18in wheels and tires. Exaclty, it's the whole system.
