  1. How to keep rear window clean?

I have a 2018 Civic Touring. I have not made any modifications to the car. This has been a problem for a while, but it just seems to be getting worse. I hope I can describe this accurately. I live in Florida where, of course, we get a lot of rain. There's this semi-permanent condensation that...
  2. Jacksonville, FL

Yeah, it's not so much that I think it's a vehicle issue, but I do think it's strange that out of the 10+ vehicles I've driven on this stretch, the Civic is the only one that reacts to the road in this way. The swaying is almost like the car is being buffeted to the left and right. You can...
  3. Detail Recommendations for White Orchid Pearl?

2018 Honda Civic Touring, White Orchid Pearl here. I live in NE Florida. Bought brand new in October. 3,000 miles on it now. I should have thought of this sooner, but I'm curious about if y'all have recommendations on particular detail work I could/should have on my vehicle. I love the that...
  4. Jacksonville, FL

Hi Jax! I've got a 2018 Honda Civic Touring. I've got a really random question for those of you who regularly commute on I-95. I usually take I-95 S on my morning commute (Riverside area to Bartram Park area) and I-95 N on the journey home. Certain parts of the freeway are paved with a type...
  5. What's that "hybrid" sound when braking?

Nope. Like the smooth sound of an electric golf cart. It sounds a little space-age'y. Anyway, I think we have the answer up thread.
  6. What's that "hybrid" sound when braking?

Such a knowledgeable bunch on here. Thanks, @VooDoo1 !
  7. What's that "hybrid" sound when braking?

New(ish) 2018 Civic Touring sedan owner here. I guess I usually have my music (or podcasts) pretty loud that I haven't noticed this until today, when I was driving in silence. What is that "hybrid"-like whirring sound I hear when braking/slowing down in traffic? I owned a Camry Hybrid 7 or 8...
  8. Are the turn signals unusually bright?

2018 Civic Touring sedan owner. Admittedly, this is the newest car I've owned in about 8 years, but I've been driving a bunch of rental cars over the past year and I can't remember driving a car with turn signals that are so bright and reflective. If I'm at a stop sign, first in line in the...
  9. Wind swaying on freeway?

New 2018 Touring sedan here. I thought that with its low-to-the-ground profile and impressive handling that this car would feel stable at higher speeds. Instead, when I start getting above about 75 MPH on the freeway, I'm kind of disappointed at how much the wind affects the car. It really...
  10. Higher MPG at higher speeds?

Hey, hey, hey! How dare you bring all that math into my thread. ;)
  11. Turbo for dummies?

New 2018 Civic Touring (sedan) owner here. Never owned a CVT, nor a turbo. I'm not really an auto enthusiast (I know... "hiss-boo! burn the witch!"). Can anyone direct me to a relatively easy to understand description of how the CVT and the turbo work -- and if there are any unique aspects...
  12. Higher MPG at higher speeds?

New 2018 Touring (sedan) owner. How reliable would you say the MPG indicators are on the Civic? I ask, because, today, when driving home I noticed that the fuel efficiency lights (the "eyebrows") would go solid green if I would accelerate up to and above 80 MPH, but if I went down to the mid...
  13. Success!!! Steering volume swipe in an '18

Just saw this thread. New 2018 Touring owner and was wondering if my volume button was malfunctioning. I actually don't mind clicking, but having a quick-swipe mute would be nice. Does anyone know why Honda made this change? Anyway, you're all very impressive. Do Civic owners have a...
  14. Things you wish you'd known on your test drive

Usual situation in my case, but, honestly, I didn't even think of asking for a solo ride. My salesguy was fine, though. Very low pressure and accommodating, so it's not on him. Again, not an audiophile, but I'd say it's not so much the amount of bass as the quality and presence of it.
  15. Things you wish you'd known on your test drive

What are some things you wish you'd known, noticed or done on your test drive? Things that you only noticed after your purchase? Not necessarily deal-breakers, but things that only registered after the test drive? Overall, I'm very happy with my new Civic Touring. The biggest issue for me...
  16. Back pain from the Civic's seats?

Ha! Yeah, I do my core work. Even started flippin yoga a few months back. Even so, there are guys on other threads approaching 300 lbs who say they're finding these seats comfortable, so I guess it just comes down to how we're all built differently.
  17. Back pain from the Civic's seats?

@Goseki would you mind providing more details on what specific changes you made? Again, I know we all have different bodies and preferences and pain-points, so there's no universal answer. But, in your case, what adjustments did you make that led to a more comfortable ride? And, if you don't...
  18. Back pain from the Civic's seats?

I first posted this in a thread on the R-Type section. A poster kindly pointed that out to me and suggested I repost it in the general section. Apologies if you've read this more than once. I'll try and keep things streamlined... My car: 2018 Honda Civic Touring (obviously, leather seats)...
  19. Uncomfortable seats

Thanks for flagging that, will do. I just found this thread through a search and didn't notice it originated in the Type R section. Here's my new thread in the General section.
  20. Uncomfortable seats

Thanks. I'll add that cushion to the list, but given that it's specifically marketed for lumbar support, it might not be right for me. I usually have to reduce lumbar support when the option is available as a seat digging into my lower back actually causes me pain and strain. We're all built...
