Not to derail, but I still do not quite understand why the current consensus is that catch cans are a "waste of money". Mine seems to collect quite a bit in colder weather. I guess it could be that the catch can configuration itself that is responsible. But without the catch can wouldnt this...
I do find stuff collects in the catch can during the colder months but not during the warmer ones. Whether removing this from the system is beneficial or not, I have no idea.
I got the si spare tire kit installed. While it is nice to know i now have a spare tire, I am not sure I like giving up so much room in the trunk. I cannot fit some stuff I normally put in there.
I have the mishimoto one. I have found it fills much more than I anticipated. I have changed it twice in around 1300 miles. It fills about halfway with a gas/tea looking liquid. When I can smell fumes in the cabin I know it needs to be emptied. I assume this is more from condensation :dunno:
I noticed this issue after replacing with all the acuity parts as well. But like others said, it turned out that I actually could get into 5th/6th it was just that the separation between gears is very close. I thought I was in third but actually was in fifth.
I don't know about your specific problem. But with my Si I have never used brake hold but hill assist still works; I assume the Type R has hill assist as well.
More interesting to me, is that one would buy a Type R to learn to drive a manual transmission.
