  1. Popping Sound/Audio Defect Upon Start Up

Just had this issue occur on my '16 Touring, it IS a humid day, never had this issue until today, but had recently enabled the Neural DTS feature. After staying at a friend's house for a few hours, starting the car produced this immediate loud popping from the speakers. Multiple restarts...
  2. Rattling noise coming from...everywhere in the cabin.

those are the two exact places I have rattles also. I initially thought the seat rattle was in my center console and it nearly called the police on me with all the abuse and pounding i was doing to it to try to squelch the noise. The incessant rattle in the dash has been isolated to the right...
  3. Best All Season Tires

Hasn't rained much in Hawaii lately, but in the times it has, ive noticed only a slight improvement in grip, but with that said, the tires do add a bit of confidence when driven by their overall improved performance.
  4. Infotainment software update?

when I originally installed it (i think the same version) in my 2016 Touring sedan, my dealer couldn't reset the maintenance minder after a service, and had to keep my car overnight to figure out how to do so. At my next scheduled service, they couldn't reset the MM at all, and ended up...
  5. Looking for new tires for my stock rims

I just posted this in another thread in this specific forum, but I will post this again, because i think my quick review would be helpful: "I just replaced all 4 Firestone FT140 OEM tires on my 2016 Civic Sedan touring with the Bridgestone Turanza Quiettracks. Im usually a Michelin guy loving...
  6. Best All Season Tires

I just replaced all 4 Firestone FT140 OEM tires on my 2016 Civic Sedan touring with the Bridgestone Turanza Quiettracks. Im usually a Michelin guy loving the MXV and a few others I've had on my previous 2011 TSX and 2001 Civic Coupe. I think it's a forgone conclusion that the Civic could use...
  7. Will the new 2019 android auto/apple carply headunits fit 2016-2018?

i must say, that volume knob availability is hella enticing, and if it came with the Insight/Accord updated software, I'd be willing to drop a few hundred to change out my head unit and display too.
  8. Any iOS 12 / CarPlay comments yet

Aside from iOS 12 b2 where any use of any camera would disconnect CarPlay, it has been surprisingly smooth sailing with iOS 12. The single issue I have seen so far is that the iPhone (X) would not be recognized (showing No device connected) intermittently when initially connected. Content would...
  9. Apple CarPlay 'No device connected' error

On iOS 12 developer beta 2/PB1, the head unit will show "no device connected" each time 1) any camera is initiated, or 2) switching out of the CarPlay interface e.g. pressing Climate to adjust HVAC controls or even pressing Home. The initial developer release was unusually very stable, beta 2...
  10. Infotainment software update?

I installed it on my '16 Touring sedan this morning, and so far it's been wonderful. Normally, to get CarPlay to work reliably on iOS 11.3 or 11.4, I would need to force close all apps before connecting my iPhone X via USB. And even so, it would occasionally still present the No Device Connected...
  11. Anyone put a screen protector on their display?

There is a previous thread about screen protectors, I got the Photodon glossy MXO film. And to this day, over 3 years on, it still looks like new! https://www.civicx.com/threads/tempered-glass-for-infotainment-protection.2613/
  12. Apple CarPlay issues

Don't bother calling AppleCare to complain about CarPlay issues, they can't do much but escalate the issue, if even. The better solution i've found, is to sign up for the Beta software. BUT do NOT install the OS! When you install the beta profile, you get access to the Feedback app, which allows...

  14. Interior LED Lighting

this is the one I used for my 2016 Civic Touring sedan, super bright white! I also used the same ones for my previous 2011 Acura TSX Tech. http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Honda-Civic-Direct-Fit-LED-Interior-Lights-Package-p/civic-df30.htm
  15. Anyone testing iOS 10

First restart of phone in 3 days for CarPlay, naturally after posting i havent needed to. But still going strong!
  16. Anyone testing iOS 10

Ive actually tried that, restarting my phone prior to getting in the car, but for me, i still needed to restart again once the 2-minute disconnection happened, and in fact, sometimes it would crash so hard, it would require me to reboot the head unit multiple times. My suggestion, try the 10.1...
  17. Anyone testing iOS 10

Using iPhone 7 Plus and iOS 10.0.2, I found a consistency for getting carplay to function that I could live with. It's not 100% but pretty damn close, since consistency was the main point of frustration for most of us. Taking into account all of the various attempts seen on this forum this is...
  18. Anyone testing iOS 10

tried that ram reset (hold sleep/wake button until slide to shut off shows, release then hold home button until home screen refreshes) this morning on the way to work (about a 25 minute drive), and aside from the expected 'within a minute' 'device not connected' notice, unplugging and reseating...
  19. Anyone testing iOS 10

No improvement with PB6, disconnected within a minute of connection, ultimately requiring a restart of the iphone
  20. Anyone testing iOS 10

Nope, still disconnects, still requires a phone restart. Also had to reboot the head unit because the volume control didn't show up in the dash/speedo, although volume control itself still functioned.
