Ah yeah PS4S are universally loved from what I've seen. Can't do much better then them from a performance/durability trade off perspective. Looks-wise, I personally find they don't have as square of a sidewall that I like in photos I've seen.
Not sure if PS4S runs wide or not personally, but I...
Just saw your above posts and saw that you wanted to use this set on track. In that case, I'd likely start off with 255 to see if you're good with the amount of grip/contact you're getting and use that as a baseline for your driving. If you start feeling like 265 will offer you more performance...
From my long research from other threads on this topic over the years, the consensus I've seen is that 265/35 is okay for like +42 and up (on conservative lowering springs) without rubbing. +38 is when 255/35 is the safer option.
I have 18x9.5 +38 Gram Lights and run 255/35 Potenzas personally...
My FK8 became mostly my weekender once I got my 6MT GK5 Fit so I wasn't suuuuper worried about losing the airbag. But yeah that was a concern I had when I was driving this car more often.
As someone always scanning through music using the wheel as I drive, it's not something I'd look forward to. But yeah it's prob something I'd have to try out and see.
Also 2017 model doesn't have the knob so I hated using the touchscreen for volume.
Yesterday, I installed a new Spoon/Momo Steering Wheel along with Spoon's steering boss and switch set. In the 30 mins or so behind the wheel since install, it's felt great.
The install itself actually wasn't that difficult and only took me about 2.5-3 hours (and a friend to help break the...
I was actually going back and forth between the PF09s and PF05s with my dad, but we both ended up agreeing that the PF05s would look better with bigger brakes. Can't really go wrong with either imo.
Got my dad's SI hooked up with a new wheel/suspension setup.
- Enkei PF09 (18x9 +42)
- Falken FK510 (255/35/18)
- Swift Spec-R Springs (-1.1" drop all around)
I'm pleasantly suprised at how much closer the steering feel is to my FK8 on this setup. No rub at all from what I can tell and no...
I have the full shifter and I also think that it's one of my favorite mods I've done to the car. One thing I've noticed after having the shifter on for a couple years is that it definitely softens a bit after a few months. Still plenty stiff, but not nearly as unforgiving as when you first...
I've actually thought about that too, but have heard mixed things about painting brake calipers. Or at least on how to do it correctly. Prob won't actually do anything about it until it gets a little worse though.
Speaking of other stuff from TAS, Spoon seems to have kept the same crane neck wing for the FL5 as well... and the N1 exhaust of course.
Kinda want these brake calipers though. The paint on mine are starting to darken and brown a bit in some spots. Would also be interested in the rotors if I...
I currently have slipstreams on my GK5 fit (my daily) and they've held up well without issues. That said, I'd be more inclined to save up and buy something with bit better reputation to put on a FK8 for my own piece of mind (something at least flow-formed especially if you plan to track the...
This is 255/35/18 Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position if you needed a reference.
Wheels are 18x9.5 +38 Gram Lights 57CR and have lowered with Spoon Springs.
I went 255/35 to be safe and there isn't any rub from the last 8+ months I've ran this setup. I do plan on trying 265/35 next time around though.
I've said this in another thread, but FL5 styling-wise, I do miss the dedicated fog lights and sidemarkers. The wing would look less tacked-on/ebay-special if it was paint matched, but I did see a picture somewhere (can't remember where) of an FL5 with a GT-style wing, and it singlehandedly...
Lol this is probably the only place on the internet I've seen where the FK8 styling is preferred over the new FL5 (as is expected) and the majority of people that prefer the FK8's styling actually own FK8s (again, which is expected).
At the end of the day, the only reason the FL5 will flop is...
