Just for troubleshooting purposes, turn off wifi on your phone before you reach home. It sounds like your phone is switching from cellular to your home wifi, although that doesn't explain the behavior you mention.
If it only happens nose up, I'd check for loose wiring or something else that can shift and cause a short like tacthecat said. Possibly something aftermarket that may not be fused correctly (fuse should blow in this situation).
Congrats! Whiny noise could be power steering pump or a bearing. You can get a mechanic's stethoscope for less than $20 to help track it down if you don't already have one.
I've had good luck with this stuff to permanently clean electrical connections. It might help with some of those codes. Also, you might want to use it proactively on everything you can access, even if it isn't causing issues now...
Interesting thread! Made me cringe when I saw it was a fellow Crystal Black Pearl. What year is it?
I hope you can get it back on the road and will definitely be following your progress. Take lots of pictures as you disassemble if you haven't already. Even with the manuals, it's still going to...
I have the AAWireless adapter and it works pretty well. Once in a while an incoming call gets routed to my smartwatch instead of the car, but it's easy to reroute.
I've had my bumper cover off at least 6 times and don't recall any bolts being a pain, only the fog light connectors. I now have two perfect-height boxes to set the bumper cover on while disconnecting/reconnecting the fogs.
As for those headlights, I'll pass.
Just fyi, Rock auto has the BREMBO 09C33811 Front Rotor (OEM) for $80 which is still about $30 cheaper than Majestic's price if you don't want to go with an aftermarket front rotor. As others have said it is unlikely that they need to be replaced, but just in case.
I'm sure the drag coefficient increases, but she still pulls just fine to triple digits and beyond (at which speeds drag actually matters). Honda knew exactly what they were doing by covering these up, but I like the look way better.
The bumper cover had to come off, but it's not that bad. Four Phillips screws on either side, a bunch of plastic trim pop-rivets, and four trim snaps along the top of the headlights. Definitely need a helper or bins/boxes to hold the cover while disconnecting/reconnecting the fog light wires...
Wanted to point out that swapping out the mirror also gets you auto-dimming at night. Not huge, but it is a convenience. Power has to be tapped from other circuits as noted above. If you go this route, try to get a donor Gentex model 453 mirror from an ebay seller that labels the leads. Due to...
I used to see a couple per month back when I was commuting into NW Atlanta, but now that I'm remote and sticking to my local city, I rarely see another CTR.
Looks great! I mounted mine behind the grill for protection, but honestly like the looks of yours better. Definitely agree about the improved bass response.
Enjoy! I remember when I picked mine up I made up excuses to drive it anywhere I could to get those break-in miles knocked out and to learn everything I could about the car. Hard to believe that was almost 4 years ago!
I skimmed this thread, but saw no mention of this product from Metra: https://axxessinterfaces.com/product/AXDSPX-HN3. This is a 10 channel DSP that bypasses the "premium" system amp and provides low level inputs for external amps and direct wires to all the speakers. It looks as though they...
