I'm in Olathe too. I don't have a CTR but I've seen a few running around...I'm sure I've spotted you before :) Do you go to KC Cars and Coffee? There are usually a few CTRs that show up.
Make sure your foam cannon comes with a 1.1mm orafice (or buy one if it doesn't). It's like a $4 part. IMHO, this will make a noticeable difference in the thickness and quality of your foam. Especially if you are using an electric pressure washer.
Nice! I'm in KC too. I don't own a Type R (at least not yet) but curious if you bought yours new here in Kansas City. If so, were you able to get it at MSRP or less? Wondering if KC area dealers are marking up.
Wow...I didn't think it was even possible to get one below MSRP. I think my local Honda dealers would laugh me out the door if I tried to negotiate $2K off MSRP on a new CTR.
If it were me, I would instruct the dealership not to wash it (if they haven't done so already). Dealers are notoriously bad for swirling/micro-marring finishes with improper washing.
Glad to know there are a lot of other 30-40 y/o dads out there who want a CTR as bad as me. I am in the same boat. I'm 39 and have two kids (3 and 8) and drive a boring Acura TSX (w/auto trans). I have been toying with the idea of replacing it with a CTR for months. I just had a great year...
That's awesome. It has long been a fantasy of mine to buy a car on the other side of the country and drive it home. There was someone else on this site if I recall who did the same thing a few months ago and did a write-up about it.
