I'm running 18x8 with a 40 offset. It clears the brakes...barely. Just request your tire shop to do a test fit and that they don't charge you a restocking fee if the wheels don't fit.
It will probably be awhile until a solution is figured out. Can't go through the OBD2 port; Our ECU is a Bosch and it's locked from the factory...I don't know of any other recent gen Hondas that had the ECU locked. Hope someone figures out an economical work around.
I think the demographic of folks that purchased a Type R will also be re-tuning their cars. 2.75" might perform better now as a simple bolt on, but a 3" exhaust will give a bigger runway for tuners.
What's up my neighbors?! Hey just a word of caution, I've gone on several ride-alongs with the police in our area, and they would pull over people for covering their tags.
I like those wheels! 245/40/R18 should fit just fine. Not to thread jack, but I picked up some similar wheels with the same size and offset, and I did not have a fitment issue. I did have to buy a different set of lugs though; M14 x 1.5.
I'm totally in for the results and would love to know the reasoning. I hope I'm not coming off as an ass; I honestly just want to educate myself. Are we talking out perform with or without a tune? My Turbo K20Z3 had amazing results when I upgraded from 2.5 to 3 with a tune. I think most owners...
