  1. Is it even worth tuning the Si?

Showing my age here (I am the old man after all and modifications for me began with drilling out the jets) but is the process in applying/installing something like this: https://www.twostepperformance.com/products/tsp-stage-one-tune-for-the-2017-2018-2019-and-2020-honda-civic-si
  2. Flash Drive (USB Port) Now Plays MPEG-4 Files

I mistakenly added a recording saved as Apple Lossless (MPEG-4) and surprisingly it plays on the system, which never previously happened. Has anyone else experienced this?
  3. Am I lugging the engine?

I generally consider 2,000 rpm to be the minimum cruising engine speed on level ground. My first three cars were air cooled VWs and lugging was the cardinal sin. Also as a motorcyclist nearly every mechanic will tell you how detrimental it is to lug your V-Twin motor as many do, I think...
  4. Sad to say these will be my last Civics

Remember, nearly all SUVs are registered as trucks and have a lower standard for occupant safety. I spent much of my life in the the aviation industry, specifically field of biodynamics (literally the effects of kinetic energy on the human body) but more bluntly (pun intended) what happens when...
  5. Coolant Change Information

Are there any complications to changing the engine coolant? Does the system need to be "burped" for air bubbles? (I had a 2002 Thunderbird that had air in for a few days.)
  6. Civic AC heading for lawsuit?

Yet it is the failure of the condenser that leads to the compressor failure.
  7. Premature Seat Wear

I've had a Honda motorcycle for over 20 years and I have been surrounded by Honda car owners for at least that length of time. I've come to expect better quality than this.
  8. Premature Seat Wear

I have owned and/or operated well over 20 vehicles in nearly 50 years of driving. Nearly all eventually with over 100,000 miles on them and many over twice that. I have had interiors of many materials, including Leatherette, vinyl, leather and various cloth materials, and have rarely if ever...
  9. Class action lawsuit for Honda16-18 Civic AC?

But the key here is the failure of the condenser allows the refrigerant to escape, thus damaging the compressor.
  10. Civic AC heading for lawsuit?

The a/c on my 2017 Civic Si failed in June of 2021 with only 52,500 miles. It was the compressor that failed, but it failed because the R-134 (along with the system lubricant) had leaded out through the bad condenser. Although I did have an extended warranty I was responsible for (I think) the...
  11. Roof Bike Rack

I'm old and slow. Just take a look at my autocross times.
  12. Interior 12v Sources, Switched and Unswitched

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the link just opens the home page.
  13. Roof Bike Rack

Unfortunately with the center exhaust on my Si this is not an option, but thanks!
  14. your Choice of Oil Filter for 10th Gen Civic Si

I've been using that exact filter on my 1999 Honda Shadow for over 20 years.
  15. Interior 12v Sources, Switched and Unswitched

I'm seeking advice about installing interior lights via hardwire instead of using the 12v (lighter) outlet. The lighter outlet is switched (on only when the car is running or in accessory mode but I would appreciate information about tapping into both switched and unswitched direct 12v sources...
  16. Roof Bike Rack

Any suggestions for a good roof mounted bike rack for a 2017 sedan? One that will not harm the finish? (You'd think I was sixteen years old - I'm 64 - with the way I baby my cars.) Preferably one that mounts two bikes with the front wheel removed. Thanks.
  17. What does your ID stand for?

MIne is kind of self explanatory. At 64 I went from being the youngest owner/driver of both a PT Cruiser and last gen Thunderbird to likely the oldest Si owner/driver.
  18. What does your ID stand for?

My email is salmonhead57. I like all types of seafood but prepare salmon more often than any other, and I made my debut in 1957.
  19. Car Wash Warning: Fuel Door May Open

I don't often patronize automated car washes, but shortly after our last snow/salt event I had a free coupon and a dirty car and it was too cold to do it myself. When I emerged I discovered the fuel door had opened because of some pressure, at what stage I do not know, but fortunately no water...
  20. How long do I have before warranty won’t cover these two “issues”?

Alignment is covered for the first 15,000 miles. Mine was fine until they had to replace a bad bearing seal on one of the axles (which should not have affected the alignment) but I noticed the moment I drove the car off of the lot. I immediately returned and made an appointment.
